Web Content Editing and Copyediting

There are many web content writers. If you are an editor or copyeditor, you can start a company offering to edit web content. You can work as an online editor, in which web content writers can send you their web content via email, you edit it and return it via email.

You can advertise on many of the freelance writer websites.

If web content writers include their email addresses, then you can also contact them about web content editing.

This includes spelling, grammar, sentence structure. You can edit for content itself. Suggest more interesting titles to attract readers, including uses of keywords. You can also offer to do fact checking and research.

You should set up a website.

To find customers, you can also write articles on web content writing and web content subjects, including a link to your website. These articles along with your first few clients can help to establish you as an expert in the areas of web content editing and copyediting.

You can also list as a web content editor at writers.net.

Of course, editors and copyeditors don't have to be writers themselves. There are many editors and copyeditors in publishing who are not necessarily the best writers themselves, but they are the best editors and copyeditors and writers rely upon these editors and copyeditors to help these to produce the most excellent manuscripts.

It's possible also to work as an acquisitions editor of web content, in which your company acquires web content, edits it and then submits it to web content markets.

Because web content is so easy to get online, many writers put web content online without always checking adequately for spelling and grammar and content and facts. Often these writers, because of the nature of the internet, do their own spelling, grammar, content, and fact checking.

You must also decide what are your fees, per page or per word. If you do research, how much do you charge for research? Fact checking? Your fees can be custom fees per client and/or set fees.

You can work with clients as a freelance editor, copyeditor, acquisitions editor.

Make Money Writing Product Reviews

If you come across new products at the grocery store and/or on the internet, you can purchase those products and then write a review.

If the company provides free sample, then you can send for a free sample. You can also call the company and tell them that you are a new product reviews for.....Let's say you write for a blog or web content provider or freelancer.

Ask if you can receive a sample of the product. If not you can buy the product and write several reviews from several websites. Of course you would have to write the reviews differently. However, the money that you make writing these reviews can repay for the cost of the product.

Review products like food products that are not very expensive. For the more expensive product review they must be products that you already want to purchase, such as new software, for example.

Keep a new products notebook. Send for samples where possible. Buy the least expensive new products, and the more expensive new products if you want those products yourself.

Write reviews for the online market.

Also, do research for print newspapers and magazines that are interested in new product reviews.

Some of these might be interested in reprinting your reviews from the online market.

You can also post reviews on your own "Google Adsense" blog which also earns your money. You would have to apply for a Publishers Account with Google Adsense.

In addition you can post new product reviews with Reviewstream.

New products can also be books and movies.

Whenever you buy a new book and/or see a new movie, including new TV movies, you can write a review.

Making Money Writing TV Reviews

If you watch TV, then you can make money writing TV reviews.

New TV movie premiers, new TV series, new TV commercials, new TV cartoons, new TV game shows.

There is a wealth of material to write on watching TV.

As you watch TV keep a notebook and jot down any ideas that you have.

You can also write reviews of current events as reported on TV.

All of these reviews are the subjects for TV reviews articles.

When watching a movie premier for example, take notes.

Make a list of the principle characters, the actors, jot down the scenes and your evaluation of the acting, the scenes, the general production. What do you think of this TV movie? Compare with other TV movies of a similar genre? Compare actors with their roles in other movies? Quote from other reviews you've read?

Write a 400 word review of the movie, including your expert opinion.

If this is a movie based upon an original script, then review as an original. If it's based upon a book, try to read the book and compare. If you don't read the book, you can nevertheless evaluate it as a movie independent of the book it's based upon.

What would you do to improve the movie? What rating do you give this movie?

Publish the review on the website(s) that accept movie reviews. You can publish different versions of the movie review on different websites.

In addition, you should have a good TV guide and subscribe to several TV-oriented magazines.

You should also have some books on writing for TV--movies, series, cartoons, commercials. These help to improve your techniques for evaluating writing for TV.

Your TV review should include:
Name of what you are reviewing--TV movie premier, commercial, etc.
The actors, if you have their names
A description of what you are reviewing--give details
Compare and contrast--with other TV products of same or different genre
Evaluation/Expert Opinion
Your rating or recommendation

Freelance Writing On The Internet

If you're a freelance writer, there are many opportunities for publishing your writing on the internet.

First, you should set up your own website or blog, where you can publish whatever types of writing that you want to publish. You can publish whenever you want on your blog.

You can also publish at such websites as ideamarketers.

Next, you should have some websites like Associated Content and Constant Content where you can publish.

You should find some websites to publish where editors select your work. This gives you an opportunity to have some editorial commentary on your writings. Even when editors decide your work this helps you in your writing. Maybe you don't like editors to decline your works. Nevertheless, as a writer you need to know how readers and editors respond to your works. This helps you.

Of course, writers don't need all of their writing rejected or declined because this can be very discouraging for a writers, nevertheless all of your writing doesn't need to be accepted.

You should read the commentary. What articles do editors think are good writing, what is great writing, what is mediocre writing. Read the comments and if you agree revise the articles. Or, you can resubmit the articles to other websites.

If you are writing for Associated Content, for example, and the editors reject articles. Make a note of the reasons for the rejections, so that when you write others articles, and if you agree with these reasons, you can make sure that others articles are revised according to these editorial comments.

Make a list of why editors at other web content markets reject your writing. Again, if you agree, keep lists of these reasons.

These reasons for rejections can become your revision checklist. Maybe your articles are not long enough. Make them longer. Maybe there are comments on the grammar, the writing style, the quality of writing. If it's grammar, make sure you check your grammar. If the content is not the right content for the market or inappropriate content for that market, make sure you submit the appropriate content. If you can improve your writing style and/or the quality of your writing, work on improving your writing quality.

How do you improve the quality of your writing? Write and revise. You can also read writers that are better writers than you are.

For example, if you're writing web content, read the best of the best web content writers. Write for markets where other writers rank the writing. Study the top writers. Write for markets where editors rank the writing. Again study the top writers.

Read the best non web writing that can help you to improve the quality of your writing. Continue to improve your writing quality, your writing style.

Continue to read and study writers who are greater writers than you are.

Write Book, Movie, and Music Reviews

If you're interested in writing book and movie reviews there are many opportunities online.

First, you can write book, movie, and music reviews at Amazon.com . Amazon.com does not pay for these reviews. But you can consider this a website to write practice reviews while you are learning to write these reviews.

For paying websites, of course, we recommend Triond , Associated Content, and Constant Content.

You can also write reviews at Shvoong.com.

Shvoong is a revenue sharing website. Another revenue sharing website is Reviewstream. In addition, if you are an Associate of Amazon.com, if book, movie, or music is ordered via your review then you receive payment via Amazon.com.

You can also write book, movie, and music reviews on your own website or blog. If you sign up as a publisher with Google Adsense then you can earn revenue on these websites.

If you're are interested in publish book, movie, and music reviews in the newspaper and magazine print market, then you should maintain a portfolio of these online reviews. You can send copies of your portfolio with any queries to write reviews for these print markets. Some might also be interested in reprinting your online reviews.

You can also collect your book, movie, and music reviews reprinting them yourself in books and ebooks, published at Lulu Press or Cafepress. Again, these self-published works can be submitted to commercial publishers for reprint. You can also organize these reviews into a book around themes. For example, you might review movies in which science is a theme and/or movies in which scientists are central characters. This might make an interested book idea for commercial publishers. A collection of rap or jazz music reviews might also be the central theme for a book.

These are just a few of the ways of starting your career as a book, movie, and/or music reviewer making use of online publishing opportunities.

Keyword Density

Writing articles for websites like Triond, Associated Content, Constant Content or your own website, think keyword density?

Why do writers use keywords in writing articles for the online market?

When you use a search engine like Google or Yahoo, you search using keywords? Others search using keywords?

Some keywords are even popular. You can find popular keywords.

When writing articles decide what your keywords are. What words do you think searchers online would use to find your articles?

Let's say your article is on business? What specifically? Business advertising.

Then you should try to use the keywords "business advertising" as frequently as you can in your article.

Use the keywords, but nevertheless make your article interest.

Try to have the keywords in as many sentences and paragraphs as you can, but nevertheless keep the article interest and the rhythms of the article interest, so it doesn't seem as if you're just using these keywords.

Make the article make sense. Make the use of the keywords make sense. That's keyword density.

Let's say with this article the keywords are "keywords," then if online searchers are looking for "keywords" they might find this article. If online searchers are seeking articles on "keyword density" they might also find this article.

When writing articles, think of keyword density. Decide your keywords and use those keywords and keyword density creatively in your articles.

You can also find keyword density calculators online. For other keyword calculators, put "keyword density calculators" in your search engine.

Keeping an Idea Notebook

If you write articles for Triond and/or for other articles websites, you should keep an idea notebook.

In this idea notebook you should keep ideas that you have for articles.

A good method of writing article ideas is to write a list of general topics--business, arts & entertainment, jobs and careers, etc.

Make a list of the areas in which you have expert knowledge, general interest, and/or an interest in researching these topics.

Once you have a list of the general topics, then write specific titles:

How to Buy Antiques

How to Make Money Online

Teaching Children Astronomy

Science Toys

Webmaster Tips

These specific titles help to focus your ideas into real articles.

You should also have a research notebook for those articles that need research.

Research these articles and keep up-to-date on new information that you can make use of.

You should join forums in the subject areas in which you're interested. Many of the questions that forum members ask can also help you to get ideas for articles and to focus your ideas. Instead of answering the forum members questions in the forum, you can answer the questions by writing articles.

Surfing online helps to generate ideas. Put general topics in your search engine. Write down ideas suggested just surfing online.

Read articles. What can you add to these topics? Do you agree or disagree?

When writing articles go through your idea notebook. When you make use of an idea or a title, put a check beside the idea or title and include where you've published the article--Triond, Associated Content, Constant Content?

How to Write Almost Anything Like an Expert

First, you must master writing. If you're writing articles, then master the writing of articles. Read the best articles, online and in print magazines. Read books about how to write articles. If you're writing print articles, read about how to write for print magazines. If you're writing for the web, read and study web content and writing for the web. Write with clarity and interest.

When you have mastered the art of writing articles, nonfiction or creative nonfiction, then decide what areas you want to master in knowledge. Perhaps you want to write business articles? Perhaps you want to write film or music reviews? Perhaps you want to write expertly about fashion or food or gardening.

Learn as much as you can about these subjects. Read books on these subjects. Read articles on these subjects. Keep a catalog of up-to-date information on these subjects. Interview experts on these subjects.

When you write about these subjects, even if you're not an expert yourself, you can quote the experts. You can co-author with the experts. You can have the experts read your article and give commentary.

Go to lectures on the topics that you're interested in writing about like an expert. Take workshops in the topics that you're interested in writing about like an expert.

Write like an expert. Perhaps you'll learn that in writing like an expert, and mastering the art of writing like an expert, you become an expert in these subject areas.
