Morning Writer or Evening Writer

Some people dedicate themselves to write something or the other everything and live upto it. While some just pass days without accomplishing their writing goals.

Some people might thing it is some kind of writers' block. I have experienced this situation and thought so. But the writers' can be overcome very easily if we have the will to write for whatever may be the reason we want to write. Soon I have realized it is the mismanagement of time that is causing the problem.

I could spend some time for writing on weekends but not on week days. In the night I do not feel like writing but feel like reading postpone that to morning activity. The thought of writing in the early morning seems very much good but I could never make it up. This is because I am not a morning person. Some people can easily make it to writing in the morning.

Finally I had realized it has deep connections with my lifestyle and started planning to write in the nights. So whether you plan to write in the morning or in the night is up to you and your lifestyle. People who are comfortable to get up early in the morning can easily write in the morning. Only those having trouble to get up in the morning, end up wasting time in the night and losing time in the morning also. So the best choice is to write whenever there is opportunity.

If one looks at his daily activities and realizes that one does other activities whenever he gets a chance then it is better to take any opportunity to write rather than planning time.

Which One is the Best to Write For? Triond or Helium!

Both Triond and Helium are the market place for online writing. Both reward the writer based on number of unique pageviews for their articles. Users can write whatever they like to write under certain restrictions.

Helium

At
Helium
one can write articles for any topic that is already listed and others have written something on them. Or one can start one's own topic but it will take a while before it is approved by the system and appears online. These generate revenue as long as the article is there and gets visitors. There is no need to worry about ideas as the topics are already there and you can just start writing your own content on them.

Triond

At
Triond
there is no restriction on topic. You can write whatever you want to write while satisfying terms and conditions. Here you get a lot of flexibility in creating topics. It need not be debate or question and answer kind of thing unlike at helium. But sometimes it appears as though you do not get any ideas and unable to write. But over time you will learn how to create content as you write more and more articles for Triond.

The big difference

Many writers know that at helium there is something called peer review. Other writers review your article and rate it as they wish against another writer's content for the same topic. This may seem good for the reader because the reader will simply need to open the first few articles and those writers will get rewards. This may seem simple at first and we like it. But the other writer's last in the list will not get any rewards even if the topic is good and getting lot of visitors. What this means is that the administrator always makes money. But the writers there get a kind of inequality with respect to rewards.

This is not the case at Triond. There is no rating here with respect to others but only a rating notable from no. of liked it or comments. But this is not something that creates competition among writers which is the case at Helium.

Imagine you write a lot of articles at Helium and if you get poor rating either because of poor writing or lack of subject or any reason, you will not get much rewards. Because the expectations will be too high and we end up thinking we got less. This definitely makes you lose interest in the long run. The competition and contest are better only for the administrators and a few winners while every other person feels like lost. It is not a win-win situation. At Triond, there is a win-win strategy. So you get your rewards from only your writing and not others' competition or pressure. Even they help you with newsletters on how to increase earnings.

This means that at Helium there is a pressure on writers because of competition and contest which is not there at Triond. Remember whenever there is competition and contest among only few who get rewarded will continue to do better while others degrade. If everyone is given equal reward then everyone will do their best. This appears in the long run.

By this I do not rule out the fact that rating does help writers improve their writing, but Helium not only one place for that. You can write articles at Triond, digg them or submit to stumbleupon etc. You can know how many readers liked them or commented. Also at Helium the readers are usually writers only unlike at Triond where lot of traffic comes due to pagerank, search engines and links from other sites. So at Helium you end up most of the time reading others material than writing something. At Triond you end up writing more as you read others' material. Over time many writers shift from Helium to Triond.

Conclusion

Competition is not a good thing among people working for an organization. This may help few succeed but many feel like lost. Thus writers at Triond feel well at Triond over long time than at Helium. Remember Helium not the only place for improving your writing but is the only place for losing motivation to write with their contests and competition.

Discover How Outlines Help Your Writing

If you always start writing without an organized outline in your mind before starting, you will end up losing track of ideas and the article will be incoherent. Of course not every one or even I am not qualified enough to write coherent articles. But the best way to learn this is to start with an outline in mind of the thoughts and ideas that you exactly want to communicate through your writing.

How will outline help your writing?

Without an outline it will be tough to concentrate on continuing writing and we tend to scatter the elements of writing here and there. This will make the reader find tough to follow your thoughts. If you thought about making it organized before starting you will also think about how to present certain elements like facts presented normally as a list, illustration as a form of picture to the right etc.

It is important of course to start something if not all when you are unable to start writing. But as you progress it will help increase the quality of articles. Once you have learned about a topic and decided to write something on it, you can make an outline in your mind at any point of time either while walking to home, having dinner etc. When writing, it will save time considerably with respect to editing the article.

Conclusion

Learn to make outlines in mind before starting to write articles. Outlines help reduce editing and reviewing time, improve the quality of article and also make the reader easy to follow it. It will also help you in the long run to progress as a writer.

Change Your Perception About Writing

There are terms like writing block or writer's block which are used to describe the situation of a writer being unable to write from a long period. You may have learned many skills to write well. Such as writing faster or typing faster, thinking effectively, reading a lot of material and doing the due research need to write your article. But you end up not doing any of these in an organized fashion that you always wish to do to bring a positive difference in your life/career.

Short-lived tips for motivation

Sometimes you might find tips for motivation and start applying in your writing. You will succeed for sure. But it will be short lived. The reason is that the tips you got may be just quick fixes and are not curing the problem deep within you.

The solution at the perception level

This situation is similar to any other problem we face in our life which we are unable to solve for a long period of time. This type of problems should not be overlooked but the key to solution is in finding the root of the problem. When it comes to writing we may need to change the perception that we have upon writing as some kind of hard work to an activity for fun and pleasure. This can be done by understanding the basic fact that the writing is a form of communication very similar to speech that we do daily with other people. If you identify the correct audience for your writing then it simply becomes a matter of putting down your thoughts and ideas as if you were talking to them. I have applied the same thing as I am writing this article.

Conclusion

Think about the positive difference this will bring in your life. Once you change the perception about writing to self-expression all other skills needed, can be learned and applied very easily and effectively.

Writing Styles

What it takes is a commitment to write a few articles per day. Moreover the idea of making money out of them should easily motivate you to write several articles per day. In the quest for writing articles consistently and effortlessly we find that many people or writers resort to different techniques.

Type-1

The worst thing I have seen is those people who simply check for new articles posted very recently and related to the topic they are looking for. They simply copy paste those articles either in their blog or for an article submission site. Both are basically meant to make money through different routes.

Type-2

There are some people who look for news articles or other articles from different source mainly as a reference than to copy/paste them. These people either simply rewrite the article, or use the ideas hidden in those articles to write their own or they may learn things from them so as to write a new article at a later date. Generally these people do not look for specific topics but look for whatever interests them at that very moment.

Type-3

There are others who have knowledge in either a wide variety of topics or an in-depth knowledge in a particular field and hence they find it easy to write on whatever topic they want to write. These people write articles out of their imagination or ideas or their daily life experiences. These people often are satisfied with their work and their knowledge and often involve in discussion with people who want to learn from them.

These are not the only type of people who write several articles per day. But there are still several people out there who write regularly and quality articles. I would be happy to get input from the reader about the other types of people who consistently write articles.
