One Year Triond: What I've Learned

About a year ago, I was playing a game called RuneScape (yes, it sucks) and trying to find a way to get membership for free. I spent some hours googling around, but most of the stuff I found was bere crap. Until I read an article of somebody stating that I could earn my membership online using a website called 'Triond'. Curious as I was, I created an account and read a little bit about how the site works. Not really knowing what to publish, I just posted some pictures I had taken on my latest vacation (Rome or France, don't remember lol). It took me some time to find out that my pictures had to be approved first. Once they were finished, I made some friends clicked them, and I was super-happy when I saw that I had made one dollar cent. Eager for more, I started writing some articles about that game, which earned me some more money. The 15th of Septembet, I got my first payment, a whole 0.64$. It made me proud, even though it was so little money, I did make it all by myself and online.

But now, one year later, I learned a lot. How Triond really works, what articles get lots of views and also, my english improved a bit. I would like to share some of the knowledge I gathered.

The first thing I learned, is that Triond has actually a very specific category of people reading articles. Apparently, they all like articles in the style of '10 strange X' or 'The 15 weirdest Y ever'. Articles with the title '10 websites for ABC' also get a lot of views. So far, I have written many articles in that style and of which I feel are capable of earning me some bucks, but only one of my articles has ever been a real hit. It was, and still is, titled 'Six websites for space and aircraft tracking'. One day, it was the second best article, and afterwards it was seventh for about a week, and then died. It's a very nice article, and has earned me 15,91$ ever since. Since I first started Triond, I have earned 42,23$, so that article earned one third of my total money. I was also very surprised when it started getting a lot of views, because I could see them add up when I just refreshed (in total it has over 10,000 views).

Another thing I learned is that once you've got one great article, you can easily remain at the top because people will also click your other articles, expecting something similar. That's why there are several people, around ten, who continuously have popular articles.

Still, I think Triond is a great and also unique site! It has been a fun year of making mistakes, learning, having people add me as a friend for no reason, people asking me how to write great articles and much, much more!
I love Triond and the way it works, and I'm trying to keep writing articles. I've got some great ideas, I just gotta be a little less lazy and maybe, if I'm very lucky, I'l have some more popular articles!

Attention-Grabbing Heading

It may not matter on how well the article is written, but if you have an eye catching topic name (title). Most of the time, people go for a title that stands out and draws people to look at your article, so don't go for a boring dull title go for something that's original.

Simplify Your Words

Important thing you should remember, people that surf the internet can co0me from different backgrounds, so they maybe looking for information or something else. So to reach out to all kind of viewers, you should simplify your words. This way it's easier for most people to understand.

Use Short Sentences and Paragraphs

Most people that surf the internet for information on a certain topic usually get drawn away by long paragraphs and tend to forget certain parts of the information, it's simply and too the point, also using bullet points can draw people to your page.

Make Your Article Conversational

The best type of article you can write is by breaking it down and using conversational language. In other words use everyday basis. It's more fun to read and can make your article seem more personal as it makes them feel like your talking to them.

Infuse Your Personality into the Article

When I say this I mean you should make it more personal like adding your own points and opinions to the article. For example you could mention what you think about some situations that are happening around the world. The point you are making is to let the reader know you are actually a reader that has points and opinions.

How to Write Great Articles

If you write a good article many people will read your article and you will make alot of money. Many people do not know how to write a good article. For those people they can read these many different ways to make your article attractive.

Adding Pictures

If you add pictures to your article it can become more attractive. Many people only read articles with pictures in it. If you add a interesting or weird picture there, they will become more interested in your article. The viewer would try to read about the picture in your article.

Making your Article More "Readable"

More than half of the people in America hates reading. So if they ever see a article with alot words, sentences, and paragraphs it will be very boring for them and they will stop reading it. You should always have other things besides words on your article.

Many people in America would rather just skim through things. To make it easier to do that for the viewer put bullitons in some areas.

Make a Cool Title

When a person looks through the internet they look at the title and see if it standsout. So it is important to make your article's title interesting . For example, if you have a article called "how to play football", change it to "a Great way to learn football" or "how to play football, click to win 1 million dollars".

Secrets to Making People Read Your Online Articles

The Internet is a writer’s paradise. Not only does it make it so easy to get published, it also lets you reach readers from all over the world. But with so many other writers competing for attention, how can you make people read the articles YOU write? What are the secrets to writing great articles online?

Here are a few tips I hope will help:

Choose An Intriguing But Informative Title

People usually find articles from search engines that show little more than the title of your article. Your title needs to tell them exactly what they will find in your article. If they have to guess, they won’t click on it.

Also, make your titles intriguing. Make them want to see what’s inside. The best example I’ve seen so far goes “The Best School You Hope Your Kids Will Never Attend.” “How to” and “Secrets of” are other tried and tested formula.

Make Your Keywords Work

What words should a person type in the search bar to find your article? These words should appear at least once in your title and again on your first paragraph, to lead the search engine to your article. Remember, if your readers can’t find your article, they won’t read it.

Use Headers

Online readers are lazy. They like to see what’s in your article in just a glance. Headers give them a quick summary and, at the same time, encourage them to read more thoroughly.

Keep Sentences And Paragraphs Short

Long sentences and paragraphs are intimidating. When people don’t see many periods and open spaces in your article, they might just stop reading altogether.

Use Simple English

Remember that many of your readers are not native English speakers. Avoid hard words, figures of speech and slang to avoid being misunderstood.

These tips may not immediately increase your readership by 100%, but they will keep you from driving away the readers you already have. I can’t say either that I always obey the rules mentioned above, but I try.

At the very least, I hope this article was easy and fun for you to read. Good luck with your writing!
