The Sites That Keep Me Busy When I’m Not Trionding

I love and enjoy writing for Triond. But I don’t always have enough time to focus on writing or I’m not always inspired enough to come up with something to write about. If I’m not adding posts to boost my Triond portfolio I sometimes get myself busy commenting on friends or other Triond writer’s works. And If I want to take my mind off Triond I kept myself busy with these four sites.

EasyHits4U

EasyHits4U is a double purpose site. You can click ads and benefit from it two ways: earn for sites viewed and at the same time also exchange the clicked ads to promote your sites either through URL forms or banners. The job here may have the tendency for a clicker’s forefinger to fall off with so much clicking to do, so I limit myself to click a minimum of 100 sites a day.

Neobux

Neobux belongs to the ever notorious paid to click ads (ptc). But this site changed the reputation of ptc with its instant payout method. I make sure I click the ads daily.

Digg

I’ve only recently joined Digg when I learned that it can help get more views to my Triond writings and pictures. I’ve only submitted or digged my own Triond posts for now since I’m only beginning to get the hang of it. If I’m not mistaken I may have been recently banned from the site because of my selfish act. I can’t log on to my account for a week and instead get a “fatal error” message. I emailed support and got a response within 24 hours. I just love website support systems that immediately reply to emails and solve problems. I almost wanted to kiss whoever that person who responded and made me access my account again. Even if that was a machine I’d still want to kiss it. Hahaha! And yes, this site has helped a lot get my Triond pieces get more views.

StumbleUpon

One advice I’ve read about this site was to “only submit high quality sites.” I love how my site looks here compared to Digg but I kind of like Digg better and that “high quality sites” matter turned me off. I’ve only accessed my account a few times and recently uploaded the toolbar. Just like Digg I’ve only stumbled my own Triond links here for now. When the toolbar was up all I did was click the “I Like It” button every time I open my freshly published Triond sites and all sites were added to my StumbleUpon account.

All these four sites help me refresh my Triond addicted mind and eyes. I'm starting to enjoy Digg and StumbleUpon and I have a funny feeling I'm also going to become an expert Digger and Stumbler. lol.

My Success and Advice with Stumbleupon

First before you start reading this article, please give me a "thumbs up" on this article on StumbleUpon. In return please leave the link of your article and I will stumble your article. Thank you

My success has began when I joined StumbleUpon. After I joined I Stumbled all my websites but got no views? As I daily write more articles, I stumbled them. When I found 50 views on one article one day, I kept writing. This started to happen on many of my articles. My number one article ever Stumbled, gained 300 views in a few minutes!

1) 303 views, 10 minutes, PSP Cheat- http://www.gameolosophy.com/Consoles/PSP-Cheat.244947

Based on the topic I write about, I stumble it in a different category. My sports articles may only get 70 views but video games articles may get between 100-300 views! Say I published an article on Health, it would gain 1,000 views. You need to determine what articles you're interested in writing and sharing with friends on StumbleUpon.

How Do I Maintain A Lot of Traffic?

By having other people give your web page a thumbs up, you will receive more views. Please give this article a thumbs up and leave a link to an article you would like me to stumble for you.

All in all, StumbleUpon is a great online tool and a friendly place to see cool websites, pictures and videos. The Internet is your friend, you can use it to your advantage. You probably heard this before, but google, yahoo, and any other search engines, are your friends. They are there to help.

Proven Strategies at Maximizing Your Triond Earnings and Article Views

Let’s be blunt. When you first sign up on Triond, you think to yourself, “This is great! I can finally write articles to my heart’s content and make good money off it too!” Then, within a month of signing up, your view changes to, “This sucks! I already have 10 articles, they’ve each got only 20 views or less, and I only have $0.10 in my account.” Now, to be fair, I can understand your anger. At a real job, minimum wage is usually at least $10.00 an hour. If it took you 5 hours to write those 10 articles, you should’ve made at least $50.00 - not a measly 10 cents.

Well, that’s where advertising kicks into play. Chan Lee Peng put it best when he said that, “Back link is by far the best strategy which is used to attract readers/ visitors to your article/ website” in his article entitled “How to Get Non-stop Traffic and Page Views to Your Websites or Articles.”

Aside from submitting your article links to the major search engines, and like Chan said, using Yahoo! Answers and E-pinion, I have 5 additional tips to add. I have tried all of the strategies myself and they seem to be working, at least for the moment anyway.

Affiliations

If you have a website or a blog, it’s quite common to affiliate with other websites and blogs. Placing a small text or picture link on your site in exchange for placing your text or picture link on another site is relatively common practice these days. It’s not that someone who views your site or the other site will click on the affiliate link, but it’s more of the fact that the more sites the link to your article is on, the easier it is for search engines to find it, and the higher up in the search results your article will be.

Free Banners

If you’re good at using Adobe Photoshop, you can take a look at Free Banners, a banners-exchange site whereby placing a small banner code in your website will let you earn credits that are automatically used to advertise your banner on other websites. In addition, if you place the banner code at the top of your website pages, you’ll automatically obtain Gold Membership from Free Banners, allowing other Gold Members to view your banner, thus increasing the number of people checking out your articles.

Your banner can even be as simple as a plain white rectangle with the name of your article on it.

Invision Power Boards

There are many forum board hosting services on the World-Wide-Web, but the major ones are phpBB 3.0, Invision Power Boards, and V-Bulletin. Of these three services, Invision Power Boards has the best search engine crawling capabilities. It has a feature in the Administration Control Panel of its boards that lets forum administrators allow “Search Engine Spiders” to crawl your board’s pages and add them to the engine’s search results. For example, in the Administrator Control Panel on my forum board, my statistics show that Google crawls through my forum at least 5 times every day, adding new forum post links to their search engine.

Keep in mind that Invision Power Boards is completely different to InvisionFree, an older version which does not have the same success when it comes to search engines crawling your pages.

Even if you have no interest in creating or maintaining a forum board, create one just to post links to your articles. Enable the “Search Engine Spiders” option in your Administrator Control Panel, and search engines like Google, Yahoo!, Live and HotBot will crawl through your forum board. Any links on your board to your articles will also be crawled through and added to the search engines as well.

Link Referral

Previously called Link Exchange until it was bought over by Microsoft and its original site transformed into a Microsoft Office advertising page (go figure, here we go again with greedy powerhouse Bill Gates), Link Referral is just what its name suggests - a site where you can refer a link to other people. The site has thousands of members, and hundreds of thousands of submitted links in their database. In short, it’s like submitting your site to a search engine. The difference is that YOU alone control how high your link appears in Link Referral’s Search Engine Database.

Every day, you have the option of viewing 30 other member-submitted links, posting 5 reviews on other links, selecting 1 link as your favorite for the day, and writing 1 post for the Link Referral forum board. If you do all of this on a daily basis (they say it takes 45 minutes per day, but in my experience it takes about 2 hours), your link’s position on the site’s Search Engine results will substantially increase. Also, the more detailed reviews you post on other people’s sites, the better grade you get as your review rating. A higher grade also affects your link’s position. I have an ‘A’ grade, and by completing the 30 visits, 5 reviews, 1 favorite and 1 forum post, I can get my site to within the top 3 positions in the Link Referral search engine. The top 5 spots in the search engine rack up 20 to 60 visits each day, so you can see the earnings potential when you add up the number of people viewing your Triond article.

Triond Community Forums

The official Triond Community Forums, where all Triond members are encouraged to communicate with other Triond members. Expand your reputation, and you’ll gain more exposure and thus earnings for any content you submit to Triond itself.

How to Make $100.00 a Month on Triond

This piece is dedicated to James Devere who asked the very simple question, is there anyone making more than $100.00 a month on Triond?

The answer is, I'm sure there are but, no one will admit to it. I really try to never discuss how much I make since this is a hobby for me and for others a part time income.

I will share some secrets that I have learned along the way to boost your earnings and bring some dead articles back to life.

Social Bookmarking

I have touched on this subject before and from past experience I never thought it was very useful until I found the right way to use it.

Stumbleupon

The trick on Stumbleupon is to not only stumble your own articles but, others as well. If people recognize that your intentions are completely one sided then they will not add you as a friend and it will be a huge waste of your time.

Install the Stumbleupon toolbar, since this is the easiest way to get your articles out to the masses and your friends as fast and efficiently as possible.

Research your friends on Triond and ask them their user ID on Stumble and add them to your friends. After you do this, they will show up in you toolbar when you stumble your articles. Send your newest works to every one of your Stumbleupon friends and that will give you an immediate burst in page views.

Digg

I have to honestly say, I don't care for this particular site. Digg is based upon a tight click of people that tend to only digg each others stories. Granted you may be able to get page views if you have hundreds of friends but, otherwise I find it to be a bit cold.

Twitter

Now a days, online bloggers and site owners find this site to be the newest and best thing. You can consistently post new articles, links to everything and anything, short statements about what your doing at the time.

This site is really great for a tight knit group or family. I am still investigating the benefits of Twitter so, you may like to check it out as well.

Blogger

Setting up a free blog at Blogger is a fantastic way to get more of your works as well as your friends out into the internet super-highway. It takes some time to build up traffic but, the strongest point about this is that sometimes it's much easier to get indexed by Google if you have a thread of great content on a regular basis.

Not only will you be able to post yor articles but, you will also be able to share your friends as well creating many external links that Google see's as quite favorable.

The more content you post old or new, the better off you will be. If you have any questions or would like a great example of some blogger sites that can be used as a cheat sheet check out:

My Blog Friends Revolution
RJ Evans Blog
Glynis Smy's Blog
RJ Chamberlain Blog
Lost in Arizona Blog
Amit Goyal Blog

Out-Sourcing to Third Party Blogs

There are hundreds of sites that will post a portion of your blog with link backs to your entire article. I do know that this direction might concern some writers but, there are perfectly wonderful sites out there that will happily put a link to your piece if it pertains to their site platform.

Check out sites such as:

WebUrbanist
Dark Roasted Blend

There are many more but, you have to do your research just like I did. I wouldn't want to give away all my secrets.

SEO

I know that this is a foreign practice to many blogger's and writers but, I am going to give you the basics. Since we are only talking about making your articles more SEO friendly, use some of these basic tips to provide more strings to your articles.

1) Keywords

The title that you use for your article should somehow be implemented into the first sentence of your article. The topic for the title should be repeated at least 5 times without sounding repetitous.

Example: Top 10 Things I Ate for breakfast

The top ten things I ate for breakfast were......

Keywords: Breakfast, ate for breakfast

Get the picture?

2) Links

Always implement links to pertinent articles of your own and your friends within your works. I have seen many Triond writers doing this lately since it's a great way to revive dead articles.

In addition, try to link keywords to pages in Wiki, high-traffic sites, and education and organization sites as these will place higher in the search engines.

Triond already provides a great internal linking system at the bottom of every article however, if you want to add more within the footing of your articles Triond will be happy to publish these as well.

3) Submitting to Search Engines

Check out my article Increasing Your Traffic and Earnings on Triond with Some Elbow Grease

It's all overwhelming I'm sure but, I have found that the more time I put into it marketing the more I get out of it. I know that submitting as many articles as you can as fast as you can seems like the only way to make any money. I'm here to tell you that it's not.

Quality articles can blow up over night if you know how to market them. Submitting 20 pictures of your dining rooms chairs, a leaf in your yard, or a picture of a flower out of focus is not going to get you more fans. It may get you .$10 more at the end of the month if that is your main goal. However, if you have hundreds of friends and feel like submitting a picture that's been laying around in your closet since the 80's considering you're just to busy to write, go for it!

Pot Settled and now for the latest edition of Triond Discoveries on Writinghood: and scroll down to submitting to search engines.

Note: For those of you that love to read a piece on a more cerebral basis, these are for you. If you like looking at pretty pictures move on.-Regards Chef Lauren the Pot Stirrer

Triond: Online Investment

Triond is an investment. For many users, a long-term investment. Your goal is for your article to gain views over time and will bring in that sum of money which will make you happy. Publish a lot of content, photos, videos, ect. Then you can be busy and do other stuff that needs to be done. Come back in a few weeks and see how you do. You might be shocked or believe you can improve. Then try coming back in a month. Check the stats and improve your writing from there. Add friends and explore triond. Triond will give you secrets on places to put your articles like stumbleupon and digg. Learn from the best users at triond and ask questions. Try and understand how you get your money, through ads on the page. Triond has made me more educated about interesting topics and the internet. You might make pennies a day, but they say pennies add up over time. I currently make 25 cents a day if I publish at least one article or photo that day. Making more articles is like investing in more stocks.

Triond: How I Use It

On joining Triond I looked at the work of others, I saw a few articles that I felt deserved a comment and I left one. The writer of that article messaged me and we became friends.

I then looked through users and found faces not logos, faces. I contacted those faces by reading an article and leaving a comment. I received messages back to thank me and we made friends.

I found a comment in a box at the bottom of one of my articles, I was delighted, I contacted the writer of said comment and we became friends. This is the procedure I use all of the time, it is called saying Thanks for noticing me and taking time out to comment, I am doing the same to acknowledge you exist and I noticed.

During my time of reading the work of a writer I came across, I noticed the article had a few errors that distracted me from reading what was a potentially good piece of work, I wrote to the writer through the comments box not wishing to follow the abusive insults that others had left behind, the writer contacted me, asked for my advice, I gave it and the article was 'fixed' , resubmitted and the writer contacted me to say the earnings on this article had more than doubled in a day, we became friends.

I left a comment once that maybe should have been a private message, I learnt a lesson that day but the outcome was I apologised publicly and the writer and I are friends, we support the work of each other on a regular basis.

Every day I read the work of my friends, ninety nine percent of the time I try to leave a comment, not just click the 'I like' box but let them know I support and encourage them as a friend would. They in turn, by about fifty percent, return the favour. All the time I am reading I am noticing others and the way they comment, curiosity about their name or the style of how they comment gets me looking them up, I usually find a new friend.

Never have I gone cold calling, not bothering to leave a comment in the box provided and then messaging them to tell them their work is great and would they go and read my work, if I want them to notice my work, I use what I consider the polite method of leaving a comment on their work and then messaging privately to see if they will befriend me.

My Blog Method

I have three active Blogs, one that I use for advertisers to come and go, one I use for my hobby and the other I use for linking to my Triond works.

I have links to my friends from Triond, the links takes the world and his friend to their profile page, this is my way of saying, thanks for supporting me, the link list is growing and therefore the more visitors I get a portion of them will call into see my friends too.

I have a side bar set up with the titles of some of my works published by Triond, visitors from outside of Triond click and find, therefore gaining the extra viewer from outside of Triond.

My Website Method

I have a people friendly non-earning (for me anyway) website, I have added a writers corner for my Triond friends to add their scribbles and links to their work, this is a new item and I am thrilled to see a few faces that I know there. The links are linked to my blogs and Triond, see how it can get you noticed? The address is on my profile, but don't forget if you want this effort free way of getting your work linked, be my friend at Triond first.

StumbleUpon

I and several of my friends from Triond use this method, daily I get the nudge from the StumbleUpon toolbar to say, 'Hi how are you? What do you think of this?' we move our work around together, supporting each other outside of Triond and because we are not clones and we have different types of friends from around the world, our work get seen in places we never knew existed.

Digg

I will confess, I use this method but not often, I find it a little confusing to use at times but that is me, my friends here use it a lot to support each other.

So that is how I use Triond to get noticed, support my friends and get support in return. It is not hard work and it pays to be polite.

How to Double or Triple Your Current Triond Earnings

In my previous article, "Four Success Tips for All Triond Writers", I have discussed some helpful tips and suggestions that will help any content publisher make the most out of their submitted content. Now let's get to the next level of Triond publishing and find out some ways that'll help you double or triple your current earnings.

A lot of Triond newbies complain that they never feel compensated fairly. They get their first 100 views and they get paid something like 5 cents, so they give up. While your first few articles may not make you big money, it will help you "test the waters' and define what viewers love. This leads us to our first tip:

Use your first few articles to know viewership trends - Ok, that's not as fancy as it sounds. It simply means that you use your first few articles to find out which topics are hot and which kinds of content get much attention from readers. For example, your first article is about wild animals. Within 24 hours of being approved and posted, it garnered 50 views and 2 cents (just an example). The next day, you test a different topic. You write a movie review, and it gets 120 views and 11 cents in just a few hours. So under the circumstances mentioned above, you discovered that writing movie related stuff will result in more revenue for you. It is important to test different topics, then seize the opportunity by submitting content that appeals to a much broader audience..

Be Creative With Keywords - one of the most common mistakes that Triond publishers make is using the same keywords in their articles. Sometimes this is good, but mostly this is bad. What you need to do is experiment with new keywords in each article. Of course, having some common keywords is unavoidable, especially if you're writing on a series of relevant topics. But the thing is, you need to experiment with new tags. One tip is to look at the Triond "hot tags" and "hot content" section. Then base your future articles on those popular keywords! Remember, keywords are the lifeblood of your article viewrship.

Don't wait for Triond to promote your articles, do your own promotion - Of course, Triond will promote and showcase your articles in such a way that it will get as many views as possible. But sometimes, your articles and submitted content just takes time to develop popularity. While waiting for that popularity boost, do your own article promotion! Promote your Triond articles and content - in social networking sites, bookmarking services, in blogs, in bulletin posts, in personal emails! It will also be helpful for you to master the use of the following websites: Digg, Myspace, StumbleUpon, Multiply, Facebook..and other Web 2.0 sites that helps you promote your content. Triond success is all about getting more views, and making people feel good after they view your content.

More tips will be discussed in future articles. Meanwhile, you can also read my relevant article, " Four Success Tips for All Triond Writers " .

To All Newbie Triond Writers: Dollars and Cents After One Month of Writing (revealed)

I was (I still am) as anxious as all new writers here at Triond. Questions plague my mind as I type out articles - what articles to write? Will anyone read my articles? Can I make money here at Triond?

I read all the help I could get - not that I really understood the true meaning of it all. There was just so much you can absorb at one time!

The first step I did was to set up my Paypal account - well you've read how people wrote a million cheque in anticipation of their success. I wanted my account ready to get my payment from Triond when the time came for pay out.

Then I took the plunge - wrote my article. Yep, I started with one article the first day "My greatest fear: Lizards Dead or Alive". I waited anxiously to see how many ‘hits' I would get. The article was published in Authspot. It was very slow going, but I wasn't about to give up!

The next day I published another two articles "Greed: Money" and "Tips to Help a Picky Eater Eat". Again, it was really slow. But I was happy to see my ‘Total Views' slowly add up.

In the meantime, I read what other writers were writing and what topics featured in ‘Hot Content'. Most of what I saw were on computer freewares, free downloads, these were topics that I am completely at a loss.

A few days after reading all the articles here at Triond, and learning how to navigate this site, I found that I could send messages to other Triond writers here! Imagine the joy when I discovered this, so I immediately sent off a couple of messages to some ‘Hot users' here like Louie Jerome, Francie, Mary J Dressel, Rebecca Ann Grant and a few others. These 4 ladies here need special mention as they were quick to reply and very generous with their time as they tried to explain to me what needed to be done to succeed here at Triond.

I was in a hurry to find out how much I could earn with my articles. By the time Triond was going to pay out on the 15th April, I had already written about 20 articles. My first pay from Triond came exactly on time, paid through paypal with the grand total of $1.08. That was my first payment for the articles I had written here at Triond. It was disappointing where money was concerned, but very fulfilling as a budding writer as you see your ‘Total Views' add up as the weeks pass.

I continue to write in a variety of topics as I strive to look for a topic that will bring in the crowd. Then recently I wrote "10 Things They Never Teach in School". Once it was published, within 2 hours, there were more than 100 ‘reads'! I was ecstatic! My first hit (so far my ONLY hit!), it was such an amazing feeling to see the numbers climb for the next few days. And this article made it to the "Hot Content' pages as well for a few days. This article is still my highest number of ‘Total Views' at 920 views (May 9 - 19) collecting $1.62 under "Total Earnings".

I am still not sure how to use Digg and StumbleUpon to their full capability. I am still exploring the use of these two social networking sites. Triond has given a long list of other social networking sites that we can use to bring traffic to our articles here. Time is of the essence, as you need it to learn to use Triond and market your articles to its full potential.

Another thing I have learned here at Triond, more ‘Total Views' does NOT mean more ‘Total Earnings'. I have articles with the same number of ‘Total Views' , but ‘Total Earnings' are NOT the same for example "My greatest fear: Lizards dead or alive" has the same number of ‘Total Views' as my other article "How to develop good study habits in your child" at 22 views each but the former article is only having a "Total Earning" of $0.03 and the latter $0.08.

To date, I have written 36 articles, and posted 3 photos of cars - specifically Ferrari. Those 3 photos have brought in $0.14 so far after 10 days. My earnings to date is $7.60 after writing here from April 17 to May 19.

I am told it takes about 6 months before we can really see any real income from writing here at Triond. This will depend on each writer as some will write an article that is an instant hit and some others will take a longer time to find their ‘hot' article. Once you get the great feeling of seeing your articles being read by others and seeing your articles appearing in the "Hot Content" pages, you will strive to be back there again!

Good luck and happy writing.
