Antennas to the Divine Word Bank: an Analysis of Creativity and Its Source

How amazing, words.

A word is a whole world. It brings along images, sounds, memories, experiences of both the past and the present, and expectations for the future.

We attune ourselves to these words. Collect them. Compile them. Manipulate them. We implement words every day, capture whole worlds, without even realizing it. Not all of us may master words, but some of us are very, very good at it. Some of us can inspire others with the worlds that we capture. With words, someone's life can be changed forever.

Most of us have spent our whole childhoods honing our reading and writing skills. So, whenever you use a word, keep these thoughts in mind. Words are powerful, and there is no weapon deadlier than the pen and paper. Swords and guns affect presently, but the written word is forever.

There is, however, a certain catch. Anyone that implements such powerful things is also under the control of that which they are implementing.

And, perhaps, there is no one that knows that better than me.

All experience, I believe, is apexial. Like a pyramid, our lives are leading up to one singular point. Everything that you learn or are told is training of sorts, experience necessary for some challenge that you will eventually be presented with. You must use the tools that you uncover as you travel, a pilgrim through a dense forest, and if you fail to do so, the consequences may prove to be crippling, even fatal. If you succeed, however, you will become that much stronger. Invariably, we are always being taught and we are always being challenged.

At the same time, however, every one of us is a teacher. We are all offering tools, the strategies that we have been told or given over time. Whenever we communicate, form relationships, etc, we are empowering others so that they may overcome that which may hinder or impede their progress down the road.

It is a giant cycle, a collective unconscious, if you will, and when communication ceases, we will all fall victim to fate.

And, perhaps, there is no one that knows that better than me.

My form of communication is the word. That is my implementation, my strategy, and my lesson to others. Without the word, I cannot succeed, and without the word I will not succeed, and it is for the same reason.

I control the word and the word controls me, because without me the words are lost and without the words I am lost.

Allow me to describe a scene...

There is a body. The body has a brain. The brain can think, and through these thoughts, it controls and persuades the body. The brain and its counterpart, the soul, have access to a great thing, an indescribable divinity. It is the source of all knowledge, inspiration, ideas, and invention.

This great thing we may refer to as the Divine Word Bank (or DWB for short).

The brain receives, through the collective unconscious, waves that resonate from the DWB. The brain, after receiving these signals, translates them as best it can into viable thoughts. The brain then speaks to the body, using these thoughts, and the body acts accordingly. The body affects the world, and therefore other bodies. These bodies then send their own signals to their brains, which send signals through the collective unconscious back to the DWB.

Our bodies, for all intents and purposes, are Antennas to the Divine Word Bank.

And, perhaps, there is no one that knows that better than me.

When I write, as is my nature, I cease to exist on a material basis. Our power as people increases, as we all learn eventually, when we shed our conscious mind and attune ourselves to our subconscious. When work becomes second nature, the collective unconscious is in control. It is then that we act best; as simple antennas.

When I write and cease to be, I am just an antenna. I receive these signals from my brain, which are then transformed into thoughts, ideas. My brain then talks to my body, which moves my hands, which then writes these words.

And then the words simply are. They are no longer signals, no longer thoughts. They exist on a material basis.

In the end, we do not all receive the same waves. Our brains do not all decode information the same, or as effectively. Our brains do not communicate as easily with our bodies as others might. This does not make us any better or any worse than anyone else. We just are.

Over time, I learn more and more that what comes out of me (in every sense of the word) at one time, and in one form, came into me. We are processors, and that is our function. Learning is just our bettering the way in which we process things.

I could say that I am a good writer. I could say that I am adept and masterful in the art of weaving complex and thoughtful analogies and pieces of symbolism, but that would be untrue. These things already exist. My brain is just trying to decode them.

Of course, the decoding processes that my brain works through, in a way, I can take credit for. I can sit down and I can dissect a passage in a book with the precision and expertise of a master surgeon who has spent their whole life in the field. But there is something that both the surgeon and I will miss, and that others who have not been trained might find in our stead. And that, in a sense, is why there is always room for improvement.

We are fallible and, in turn, must learn to be creative. If we were all perfect decoding machines and were perfectly attuned to the DWB, everything would be universal and infallible. True, the old, divine ideas would never fade, but new ones would never appear. It is our mistakes and our unique decoding processes and behaviors that add more to what exists now. It's these things that expand our minds and the collective unconscious in which they thrive.

Sometimes, we let ourselves get so wrapped up in the world, it starts to strangle us. We get so wrapped up in our pre-conceived notions, in culture, in common-sense and logic, and in reality, we lose the ability to take a step back. I know it's scary, but, sometimes, maybe the best thing to do is allow life to amaze you. Allow life to remain indescribable.

Most of all, try learning to be more than a human closed off by culture and society and morality. Learn to be an antenna. More than that, even, learn to be a fallible antenna. Make every mistake possible. Be creative, be original. God was an architect, and Jesus was a carpenter. Divinity is all about creation. Learn to destroy something beautiful and then turn it into something even more beautiful.

Blow up the Sistine Chapel, burn down a library or a church, push over the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and make a sky scraper crumble to the ground. Learn to love piles of rubble. Because, only in that disgusting, unorganized heap of debris and mass, is anything possible. When we have the tools to create, anything can be created. It is only when we leave the world alone, untouched, that we have run out of possibilities.

So, in that sense, I would say that the surgeon is the worst person for the job. The surgeon knows what he must do, but he has great difficulty finding out what he can do.

And, perhaps, there is no one that knows that better than me.

Every writer on Triond.com has a similar goal, to create and improve their writing, have it read in published form, and continue forward with their writing dreams. So in this common dream, why don't we all take the time to help each other out?

7. Which Articles Get Read and Why

This article reminds you to not let another's words prevent you from writing what's in your heart. As a writer you have a special gift that you are supposed to share with the world.

Ever wonder how you're writing success is really adding up? Maybe you receive a consistent number of views per month, but how does this really stack up in the "real world" of writing?

When you change how you think, it changes your world.

Have you ever wanted to publish a book? Is that one of your greatest dreams? Have you sometimes thought it would never happen?

Then change your thinking; when you do suddenly you will be surprised to discover what you've already accomplished.

And lastly:

(Here's a great tip: Some of my best articles have been those I have written in direct response to another writer's question. When you write and truly care about your audience, your articles will automatically become hot content. So, take inventory of what people are asking most frequently, and you will be on your way to writing a new invaluable article.)

Triond: A Great Tool for Writers

Triond is a great tool for writers because it allows them to write without having to worry about the myriad of technical details that surround building an online readership. For the most dedicated writers, writing is not a means to gain readership. That is something that we would like to trust will come in time. For us, writing is an end in itself, an enjoyable practice of self-expression, which through its excercise becomes more and more beautiful.

Triond writers simply choose a topic that they wish to write about and go for it. They write, day after day, excercising their skill and becoming better at it. This is because they know that their is no way that one can become a great writer without writing, just as one could not be a great singer without actually singing often. Practice makes perfect, and while perfection might seem a steep goal, without practice no one can ever come near to perfection.

It is a writer's dream to be able to move his or her audience on the level that he or she is trying to. The journey begins with knowing where you want to take your audience, and then being able to successfully lead in that direction using only the written word. It is a very satisfying experience, when you discover that you have finally learned how to communicate, not only ideas and technical details but also the atmosphere of feeling that surrounds any given topic.

Of course, you could practice writing on lined paper at home, but you would not be able to gain the satisfaction of having a solid readership and helpful feedback from people all over the world. That is why Triond is so great. Writers get to practice, read the works of other artists, gain personal readership, and recieve valuable feedback from that readership. May we all take advantage of such an awesome opportunity!

Happy Writing!

How to Make $100.00 a Month on Triond

This piece is dedicated to James Devere who asked the very simple question, is there anyone making more than $100.00 a month on Triond?

The answer is, I'm sure there are but, no one will admit to it. I really try to never discuss how much I make since this is a hobby for me and for others a part time income.

I will share some secrets that I have learned along the way to boost your earnings and bring some dead articles back to life.

Social Bookmarking

I have touched on this subject before and from past experience I never thought it was very useful until I found the right way to use it.

Stumbleupon

The trick on Stumbleupon is to not only stumble your own articles but, others as well. If people recognize that your intentions are completely one sided then they will not add you as a friend and it will be a huge waste of your time.

Install the Stumbleupon toolbar, since this is the easiest way to get your articles out to the masses and your friends as fast and efficiently as possible.

Research your friends on Triond and ask them their user ID on Stumble and add them to your friends. After you do this, they will show up in you toolbar when you stumble your articles. Send your newest works to every one of your Stumbleupon friends and that will give you an immediate burst in page views.

Digg

I have to honestly say, I don't care for this particular site. Digg is based upon a tight click of people that tend to only digg each others stories. Granted you may be able to get page views if you have hundreds of friends but, otherwise I find it to be a bit cold.

Twitter

Now a days, online bloggers and site owners find this site to be the newest and best thing. You can consistently post new articles, links to everything and anything, short statements about what your doing at the time.

This site is really great for a tight knit group or family. I am still investigating the benefits of Twitter so, you may like to check it out as well.

Blogger

Setting up a free blog at Blogger is a fantastic way to get more of your works as well as your friends out into the internet super-highway. It takes some time to build up traffic but, the strongest point about this is that sometimes it's much easier to get indexed by Google if you have a thread of great content on a regular basis.

Not only will you be able to post yor articles but, you will also be able to share your friends as well creating many external links that Google see's as quite favorable.

The more content you post old or new, the better off you will be. If you have any questions or would like a great example of some blogger sites that can be used as a cheat sheet check out:

My Blog Friends Revolution
RJ Evans Blog
Glynis Smy's Blog
RJ Chamberlain Blog
Lost in Arizona Blog
Amit Goyal Blog

Out-Sourcing to Third Party Blogs

There are hundreds of sites that will post a portion of your blog with link backs to your entire article. I do know that this direction might concern some writers but, there are perfectly wonderful sites out there that will happily put a link to your piece if it pertains to their site platform.

Check out sites such as:

WebUrbanist
Dark Roasted Blend

There are many more but, you have to do your research just like I did. I wouldn't want to give away all my secrets.

SEO

I know that this is a foreign practice to many blogger's and writers but, I am going to give you the basics. Since we are only talking about making your articles more SEO friendly, use some of these basic tips to provide more strings to your articles.

1) Keywords

The title that you use for your article should somehow be implemented into the first sentence of your article. The topic for the title should be repeated at least 5 times without sounding repetitous.

Example: Top 10 Things I Ate for breakfast

The top ten things I ate for breakfast were......

Keywords: Breakfast, ate for breakfast

Get the picture?

2) Links

Always implement links to pertinent articles of your own and your friends within your works. I have seen many Triond writers doing this lately since it's a great way to revive dead articles.

In addition, try to link keywords to pages in Wiki, high-traffic sites, and education and organization sites as these will place higher in the search engines.

Triond already provides a great internal linking system at the bottom of every article however, if you want to add more within the footing of your articles Triond will be happy to publish these as well.

3) Submitting to Search Engines

Check out my article Increasing Your Traffic and Earnings on Triond with Some Elbow Grease

It's all overwhelming I'm sure but, I have found that the more time I put into it marketing the more I get out of it. I know that submitting as many articles as you can as fast as you can seems like the only way to make any money. I'm here to tell you that it's not.

Quality articles can blow up over night if you know how to market them. Submitting 20 pictures of your dining rooms chairs, a leaf in your yard, or a picture of a flower out of focus is not going to get you more fans. It may get you .$10 more at the end of the month if that is your main goal. However, if you have hundreds of friends and feel like submitting a picture that's been laying around in your closet since the 80's considering you're just to busy to write, go for it!

Pot Settled and now for the latest edition of Triond Discoveries on Writinghood: and scroll down to submitting to search engines.

Note: For those of you that love to read a piece on a more cerebral basis, these are for you. If you like looking at pretty pictures move on.-Regards Chef Lauren the Pot Stirrer

How to Write a Poem

There are many people who express how difficult poetry is to both interpret and write. I would love to help those of you who would agree on it's difficulty, see poetry in a new way. There are a few truths about poetry I have discovered.

poetry is a form of art and like any art there is no right or wrong way to interpret or write poetry

poetry is personal and reaches a wide span of topics (meaning you can write a poem about anything you desire)

poetry is and awareness shared and intented to invoke and emotional feeling be it happiness, sorrow,a slight discomfort ect

poetry is timeless

when writing a poem you cannot do it wrong!

I have heard it expressed that poetry is not a frail old woman, it is stronger than you think! This is because poetry touches a creative area of our brain and can even bring some readers to laughter. This is the purpose of a poem. These words written down magically take the readers hand and reveal to them what is beyond words.

I value the art of poetry because there are no rules if you desire no rules. On the other hand if you desire to follow a strict ruling of writing a poem or interpreting it you can also do this! Remember to look upon creating a poem or interpreting a poem just as you would a painting. Poetry is an art and an open window to emotion.

Writing a poem is only hard if you want it to be hard. How you write a poem and what you will speak about is all up to you! I leave this with you for your own interpretation.

Swallowed is the empty soul
Where prisons oft are found
Hallowed is the heart that sings
Oh priceless is thy bound.

~~I thought I needed two left feet
to ever make it back
I sighed and laughed towards the wind
that blew my right on track

I had the recent pleasure of befriending Glynis Smy who wrote a follow up to my article Triond Etiquette: What’s Your Purpose of Being Here? called "Jump on my Triond Bandwagon".

The characteristic's that set Glynis apart is her grace, honesty, and her lovely pieces of written word. She is a voice of common decency and a writer with a mind that breaks the rules of common English, which is an overwhelming talent all on it's own.

I believe that when you cross the path of someone that mirrors the same characteristics as yourself, you come to the conclusion that your creative thoughts are appreciated no matter what the platform.

However, when those ideals are challenged by a Triond troll, as I like to call them you wonder what is the sole purpose of someone being here with that kind of agenda.

From my perspective, and of course one that is blatantly honest, I think that page views come to mind. However, when new writers come to Triond with the hopes of making tons of money by leaving negative comments or leaving a kind message in your box saying "Please read my work" and nothing else, it really burns me up. Especially when I never see their names in my comment section.

I know your saying, well didn't you do that? The answer is, no I did not. I took the time to comment and follow people before I made any kind of comment. I read recently on a new Profile "I am adding tons of friends so they will read my work, you can add my name if you want to", as if he was saying I might read your articles.

Anyone that has a keen sense of Triond or is over the age of 20 would never leave that in their profile. It's one thing to hide your true colors but, it's quite another to put them all out in the open for the whole community to see.

I would like to introduce 3 Items of Information that every new and old writer should already know.

The Three T's of Triond

Try to comment when you can
Take the time to research before you make friends.
Take a moment and remind yourself that you are an adult and not a kindergartner running on the playground looking to knock over the weaker, geekier version of yourself.

Well, now that my rant is over and my spoon in the pot has calmed down, I would like to keep the bandwagon going by mentioning some more Triond Greats that I have come across for a mention:

Pamela Shrove for Pretend World
Carmen Magnolia for Stand by It
Rebekah Humphrey for Monologue, Alice
Fisherbridge for A Look at Global Warming
Virgina Morgan for Bound and Buried
Tony Chiodo for The Evolution of Modern Man

It amazes me that some writers come to Triond and remain unnoticed while angry, self serving, talentless ogre's stick around and don't get kicked off. Oh, am I live? lol

~Blessings and Have a wonderful Thanksgiving~

The Poetry-Art Connection

As art is an expression of human emotions, it is not surprising that the modes of expression tend to blend and complement each other. This bond is especially evident between poetry, or images in the form of words on the page, and art, drawn images on the page. This bond is manifest in many ways: art can serve as an inspiration to poetry and vice versa, art can be produced in response to a poem and vice versa, and art can adorn or aid poetry in a way. This last also works in the reverse.

There were flyers all around campus this week advertising an art competition. As an avid art devourer, I couldn't wait till the new pieces would be showcased in the gallery. All week the expectation built up until I was counting down the days when I could see the expressive creations of my fellow peers. Today it happened. The work was amazing. The compositions were flooring. I stood in front of each painting, soaking it all in, watching the curves of the lines, the dabs, and the dots, watching what made the paintings breathe with life. Later I will capture that life in poetry. These paintings are sisters to my creations. The rose dusted with dew and placed behind a golden backdrop is sister to the words that glisten on a newly inked page. They are the expression of human souls. It is very easy to see how one can inspire the other. For example upon reading Tennyson's "The Lady of Shallot" Waterhouse was inspired to produce his beautiful paintings. Likewise, during a previous art showing, I was inspired by a photograph of a homeless man lying barefoot on the sidewalk with cigarette butts and old sole-pressed, dirt crusted chewing gum. I wrote a poem entitled Hopelessness.

Sometimes poems can be in response to art. If the art piece poses a question, and sometimes even if it does not, a poet can write an answer, an explanation, or an observation. I recently saw a drawing of a woman. Her hair was drawn back tight, but a few crinkly wisps swarmed her temples. Her eyes were potent and untrusting, her lips were tight, and her stance was strong. While looking at the painting I was struck by the beauty of the woman; I was also struck by her emotions. She viewed the world from an untrusting point of view, calculating who she should trust, if she should trust at all. I am considering writing a poem in the woman's voice, explaining her expression and telling why she has come to distrust the world.

Lastly, art can adorn poetry and vice versa. Just today I saw a poem about Barak Obama. In the background loomed a heroic picture of the President Elect dusted gently by strains of rainbow. The poem was beautifully adorned. I also saw a collage in the art show. Inside the glass were a mask, peacock feathers, news paper clippings, beads, and a small wooden chest filled with links of chain. On the lid of the box was a short Haiku. The Haiku gave the collage a sweet and special touch.

Without the picture of Barak Obama in the background, the poem would have just been words on blank paper. Without the Haiku on the chest, the collage would have just been artifacts placed together, lacking a deeper meaning.

Art and poetry complement each other. They belong together. It is only natural then that poets should devour art and artist should devour poetry. So it you're ever in need of inspiration, visit a gallery and fill up. Till next time!

Triond Will be the Most Popular Writing Site on the Internet

I believe it wholeheartedly, after all, it is undeniably true that the imagination is the impetus to creation. Without an idea, production cannot begin. Part of the reason why CEO's and top paid executives of companies are so highly compensated and valued is due to the fact that they are “big thinkers” who can see the “big picture” and the far reaching results of their visions.

Visionary minds are the risk takers, the voice of the company or concept they represent, they make mistakes, they change courses, but they all believe in the great validity and importance of their ideas. Then, quite intelligently, they leave the details to the invaluable specialists who fill the various fields. But, social invention and progress first begins with the imagination, an ingenious idea, the spark of thinking past the concrete and known into the fascinating realm of endless possibilities.

One of my favorite and most beloved quotes is:

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”

-Walt Disney

Another is:

“The only limits in life are those we place upon ourselves.”

And, lately, I've had the vision that WE, the gifted Triond community can and WILL make Triond the hottest, most popular writing site on the internet.

Why not us, after all?

Everyday the membership new sign-ups are growing. Every time you publish another article, leave a comment to support your fellow writer friends with a link to your profile you are lifting the entire site to the next level.

Within the past few months, I have done some research and was pleasantly surprised to find that many people believe Triond is one of the best online money making writing opportunities around for freelance writers. You will also be pleased to know that I have read many articles that talk very positively about our community. Most people feel that it is exceptionally supportive and I have to agree.

New and seasoned Triond writers not only consistently read your work and give supportive feedback; they often go above and beyond this kindness. I have had talented, gifted writers send beautiful emails, ask my opinion on varying subjects, further humbling, lifting me up and solidifying my belief in myself. After all, some of these writers have written songs, screenplays, and novels and for some reason, they think I have talent! Some have even gone so far as to write about me in their articles, link my work to their sites, and I'm sure much more than I will ever fully be aware of. Furthermore, the Triond community makes you feel like a special shining star and for these reasons I will never be able to express my gratitude enough.

In addition, some of the articles I have read that speak adversely about our site, actually have sited inaccurate information. I have left comments on some of these articles explaining that I have been writing for Triond for about 2 years and their negative facts are untrue. I believe the more we write positively about our site, the more we talk about all the benefits, and the more we continue to comment, Stumble, link our articles, etc. the more we can truly make this site the BEST writing site on the internet.

The more we all think of the “bigger picture” and limitless possibilities of this incredible site; that we are not in competition with one another, but in the same mission to grow Triond's popularity the more we will drive good, positive traffic to our site and ultimately make it the most sought after, esteemed writing forum around!

I once spoke to the founder of a very popular internet site and he told me that from the very beginning stages of its existence, he was publishing articles and telling people it would be the top site within its genre. And, his words (imagination) paved the successful path to his “greater vision”. I am saying the same about Triond.

Together, we CAN and WILL make it happen!

“To the stars and beyond!”

National Playwriting Month

November 1st marks the beginning of National Playwriting Month, or NaPlWriMo for short. The idea is to write a whole play (75 pages at least) before the month is over.

NaPlWriMo was created in 2006 by Seattle based theatre artist, Dorothy Lemoult and started with a mere 20 participants. Apparently everyone had so much fun participating that last year on November 1st the site crashed. Well, rest assured, the NaPlWriMo is back and better than ever with a beefed up website ready for writers to take on the challenge of writing a play in a month.

Now, I for one, have never written a full-length play in 30 days. The challenge scares me. But isn't that the point of taking on a challenge. To scare yourself a little, push yourself a lot and rise to the occassion.

You don't have to be a seasoned professional to participate. You don't even have to have any previous playwriting experience. Passion will be a must in order to see you through and there are a few simple rules. Like, start on the 1st, end on the 30th, check in each week by Sunday, follow standard playwriting formats - simple stuff really.

So, if you don't have anything else to do this month... I mean, besides voting, dealing with relatives at Thanksgiving, watching college football, etc.... consider writing a play!

To sign NOW up for FREE visit naplwrimo.org.

How to Keep Your Articles in Constant Circulation

Recycle Your Writing!

Recently, I wrote an article about linking your articles in your new work in order to keep them in fresh circulation. That is one excellent way to rejuvenate your work however it's a good idea to continue to come up with creative, innovative ideas to ensure all your work is consistently receiving the attention it deserves. Ingenuity is a sure fire way to meet and exceed all your writing goals dreams.

So here is another idea: submit articles that give fresh, interesting snippets of your work, including links to the full article. Do this for all your work and eventually, you will have created smart catalogues and new ways to make sure all your work is always continually viewed. Give these catalogue articles a theme title that will draw the reader in and give them easy access to the articles that are relevant to the topic.

In the end, your goal is to make sure your work brings in substantial growing, residuals for the rest of your life. The more great ideas you come up with, the closer you become to solidifying this reality in your near future!

Below is a sample of what your article catalogues can look like:

Inspirational Catalogue

Whether you decide to work for a non-profit organization or become the next Brian Tracy, well-renowned self-made millionaire, the bottom line is, success is a matter of choice. You have the option to go after any career field imaginable, but with each endeavor come specific steps that you must prepare for and be willing to devote your time to.
