The Sites That Keep Me Busy When I’m Not Trionding

I love and enjoy writing for Triond. But I don’t always have enough time to focus on writing or I’m not always inspired enough to come up with something to write about. If I’m not adding posts to boost my Triond portfolio I sometimes get myself busy commenting on friends or other Triond writer’s works. And If I want to take my mind off Triond I kept myself busy with these four sites.

EasyHits4U

EasyHits4U is a double purpose site. You can click ads and benefit from it two ways: earn for sites viewed and at the same time also exchange the clicked ads to promote your sites either through URL forms or banners. The job here may have the tendency for a clicker’s forefinger to fall off with so much clicking to do, so I limit myself to click a minimum of 100 sites a day.

Neobux

Neobux belongs to the ever notorious paid to click ads (ptc). But this site changed the reputation of ptc with its instant payout method. I make sure I click the ads daily.

Digg

I’ve only recently joined Digg when I learned that it can help get more views to my Triond writings and pictures. I’ve only submitted or digged my own Triond posts for now since I’m only beginning to get the hang of it. If I’m not mistaken I may have been recently banned from the site because of my selfish act. I can’t log on to my account for a week and instead get a “fatal error” message. I emailed support and got a response within 24 hours. I just love website support systems that immediately reply to emails and solve problems. I almost wanted to kiss whoever that person who responded and made me access my account again. Even if that was a machine I’d still want to kiss it. Hahaha! And yes, this site has helped a lot get my Triond pieces get more views.

StumbleUpon

One advice I’ve read about this site was to “only submit high quality sites.” I love how my site looks here compared to Digg but I kind of like Digg better and that “high quality sites” matter turned me off. I’ve only accessed my account a few times and recently uploaded the toolbar. Just like Digg I’ve only stumbled my own Triond links here for now. When the toolbar was up all I did was click the “I Like It” button every time I open my freshly published Triond sites and all sites were added to my StumbleUpon account.

All these four sites help me refresh my Triond addicted mind and eyes. I'm starting to enjoy Digg and StumbleUpon and I have a funny feeling I'm also going to become an expert Digger and Stumbler. lol.

Triond Income: Is It Possible to Make Hundreds and Thousands?

What are you making?

Are you making cents on Triond? Do you think it is a waste of time? If you think it is well think again. Every writer has had this problem of earning money on Triond and I do agree as I have also had the same problem. But do not lose hope as you are a few steps away from making a more decent income here.

This article will give you an example of what you can make here on Triond whether it is cents, dollars, hundreds or even thousands! You can make it but how? Work work and work!

Now I am not saying to spend your whole day and every minute writing here but what I am saying is that once you trust yourself and this website, you can gradually build this income far more than what you might think!

My story: it is not pages long, lol!

I joined this site back in May 2008 and so far I have made a total of around $8-10! Now you might think this is a load of crap but to be honest, I didn’t use the site as much as I am now! I only published around 10 content pieces and I actually made a few cents a month. Yes this is as low as 3 cents!

But for a few months, I have worked extremely hard, publishing 10 pieces of content a day and I have reached nearly 200! But what about my income? I have made a total of $6.92 in December! It is not much but a lot more than 3 cents, don’t you agree?

Forget cents, what about hundreds or even thousands!

Here are a few calculations which will help all of us with Triond! Some writers earn hundreds already and this is because of their popularity here and what they write. So how do they earn so much? Here is the info.

Page views are important because this is one way we earn revenue. So how much page views do we need to earn? I was a little disappointed about the page views because it takes near 5-10 page views for 1 or 2 cents!

But how on earth can I make hundreds or even thousands if I make 1 or 2 cents for every 5-10 page views?

The simple thing to do is write write and write! This way you can build these cents to a few dollars and eventually it should turn to hundreds.

But how much do I need to write?

Here is a formula I have calculated for all of us. This should definitely help.

Cents

Writing below 100 articles:

1 article – 5-10 page views = 1 cent!

50 articles – 5-10 page views/1 cent for each article = 50 cents!

Dollars

Writing hundreds of articles:

100 articles – 5-10 page views/1 cent for each article = $1!

(So here you can see that for publishing at least a hundred articles, you can make a dollar from them IF they generate 1 cent each)

200 articles – 5-10 page views/1 cent for each article = $2!

Writing over 1000 articles:

1000 articles – 5-10 page views/1 cent for each article = $10!

(If you want to calculate 2 cents for every article, just add the amount you see for the formulas above. For example, 1000 articles generating 2 cents for each piece will make $20 instead of $10)

A formula for thousands of dollars:

5000 articles – 50 page views for one article = 5 cents

5 cents for every piece = $2500!

I am not going to go further but you do know where I am going don’t you? But depending on the amount of page views you get, you can generate over hundreds or thousands of dollars on Triond! To make thousands, you will have to work very hard but you might be lucky to make over 5-10 page views a day which would give you more!

I am concluding this long article now as I do not want to bore you lol!

At the moment, I am aiming to create a total of 1000 articles here and I have nearly created 200! Wish me luck!

If you want to make more money, please add me as a friend as I will look at your work but I might not be able to comment on your works too often as I am too busy with college and everything.

Hope you all the best for 2009 and beyond!

My Success and Advice with Stumbleupon

First before you start reading this article, please give me a "thumbs up" on this article on StumbleUpon. In return please leave the link of your article and I will stumble your article. Thank you

My success has began when I joined StumbleUpon. After I joined I Stumbled all my websites but got no views? As I daily write more articles, I stumbled them. When I found 50 views on one article one day, I kept writing. This started to happen on many of my articles. My number one article ever Stumbled, gained 300 views in a few minutes!

1) 303 views, 10 minutes, PSP Cheat- http://www.gameolosophy.com/Consoles/PSP-Cheat.244947

Based on the topic I write about, I stumble it in a different category. My sports articles may only get 70 views but video games articles may get between 100-300 views! Say I published an article on Health, it would gain 1,000 views. You need to determine what articles you're interested in writing and sharing with friends on StumbleUpon.

How Do I Maintain A Lot of Traffic?

By having other people give your web page a thumbs up, you will receive more views. Please give this article a thumbs up and leave a link to an article you would like me to stumble for you.

All in all, StumbleUpon is a great online tool and a friendly place to see cool websites, pictures and videos. The Internet is your friend, you can use it to your advantage. You probably heard this before, but google, yahoo, and any other search engines, are your friends. They are there to help.

How to Become the Most Convincing Writer in Your Writing Career

Being either a part-time or a full-time writer is a blessed job. Its status can be as equal as a teacher. As a writer, you become an excellent educator to educate people with your moral rich contents; a brilliant doctor to help others to stay healthy; an extraordinary beautician to teach people to look beauty and young; a great scientist to provide people with latest inventions; a great poet to craft the nature into a great masterpiece; a fantastic religion practitioner to sing the greatness of the existence of the God and etc. In conclusion, as a writer, you’re playing many roles with your diverse knowledge and wisdoms.

Do you consider yourself as a writer? If I write words by words, do I characterize as a writer? Yep, you’re a writer. You don’t have to spend much time writing a 15cm-thick novel and get it sold for million copies to get yourself qualified as a writer. If you’re writing for your hobby, or you just want to play around the words, do you still consider as a writer? It won’t inspire you to spend more than 10 hours to write in a day, but my dear friend, you’re still considered as a writer. That means you don’t have to write 14 articles every 20 minutes. You just sit there and put your words, phrases and sentences in your mind to express what’s within you to get yourself a full membership of a writer.

You may have read my previous article on how to become the most successful writer here. Here, I share with you the conditions you need to become the most convincing writer in the writing world to help you gain recognition from the readers. I hope these useful tips will help you to become a brilliant star in your writing career. Cheers!

Building Your Brand Name

For a writer, your article or manuscript is a product. To market your product to a large group of clients, you must first build up your brand name. Simply put, it’s impossible to get recognized for one new brand name in the mind of readers. It needs some time to develop. You may need one year, two years or may be more to make your name standing out among so many brand names in a competitive marketplace.

Your brand name should be rooted to high-quality, unique, innovative, stylist or trendy, wide range of choices, reliably, eco-friendly, and first-to-market. Once you’ve yourself rooted in these criteria, your brand name will be established for a long haul.

People tend to buy their familiar products. They like good, reliable, well known and great brands. So, it’s very natural for them to stick to their familiar brand names. In my case, if I change my name CHAN LEE PENG to Momochan, there’ll be fewer readers and may be none will read my work. This is because they don’t know who this Momochan is. Royal readers read your work because they know you, or when they curious on someone who has climbed to the top of the writing world. In other words, your brand name is successfully built up via a channel of internet, blog, forum, web site and discussion board. Read the tips here to help you building your brand name.

A powerful brand name has the ability to cut-through the competitiveness of the writing markets, and it’s also able to retain the best readers in its way that delivers superior results in both short and long-term. In a nutshell, brand name is a tactical way to unearth the distinction in all your writing materials. A writer that fails to brand itself and its writing is destined to be shoveled in with all the other writing materials available to readers in today’s competitive marketplace.

Be a Good Speaker

Don’t expect everyone to understand you. Put yourself in your client’s shoes. Think of their needs, their expectations, their questions and their contexts. Then start thinking how you could best cater your points to them. Your delivered points must be something memorable, simpler and clearer. Try map out your idea into a picture, so that you can clarify your own idea. From here, you’ll have to decide what content you want to communicate with your reader, what’s the style of your message, how are you going to deliver your message to your reader, what verbal cue will you use to deliver your message, and finally what visual cue will you use to enhance your presentation.

Write Regularly and Constantly

Get yourself sit down and start to write at least 4 articles a month. It won’t take you long as you just have to spend about a couple of times a month.

Provide Good Quality Content

Some titles are really eye catchy and thus they’ve been put to the top of search engine. Since the content is low in quality, they might have spammed by the readers in the social networking (such as Stumbleupon, Digg, Technorati and Reddit). Due to this reason, they’ve been pulled down and no longer will they be seen on the search engine ranking. It’s not advisable to trick people with eye catchy title but low in quality content as the readers will soon come to judge whose work is worth reading and whose is not.

Don’t Submit Junk!

No matter what writing platform are you in, remember not to submit junk. If you provide inaccurate, over-wording, and redundant articles, you’ll give a very bad impression to your readers. And in most cases, your articles will be thumb-down instead of being thumbed up.

Be a Silent Supporter

If you think the article is good, regardless whether it is written by a new writer or a seasoned writer, give them your support by submitting their articles to other sites. They may not know you who did this on their behalf, but this doesn’t matter. You’re doing this good deed to help them to grow as a successful writer in the future. When you keep on doing this, over the time, your wisdom will grow.

Don’t Leave a Negative or a Nasty Comment

No one prefers to hear bad words. Beware of your words as they might hurt other people’s feelings. So, when you leave comments to your friend’s works, make sure that they’re supportive, and positive. If you’d like to point out the writer’s error, try to mail them personally so that they won’t feel embarrassing in front of the public.

Be United, We’re Strong!

As one of the writers in the writing world, you should unite with other writers. One stick can be broken easily, but a bundle of sticks cannot be broken easily. If we writers unite heart to heart, we can be a strong team to face a challenging world.

Praise for the Best, Comfort for the Failure!

When someone’s content is gaining popularity, you should praise them. In contrast, when someone’s work is rejected, try to comfort them to help restore their confidence to write.

Never Curse Each Other!

No matter whether you’re writing for Triond, eHow, Hubpages, Bukisa, Associated content or any other writing platforms, you’re a respectable writer. Try not to differentiate each other. You should regard them as one big family to exchange idea, thought and writing experience. By doing so, you’re helping yourself to learn from a diverse group of writers from the world. It’s very important not to jealous the successful writer, but you should see this is a great opportunity for you to learn from them.

Never Discriminate Each Other!

It’s always a mistake when one discriminates each other. Some will only read articles written by native speakers but they ignore the existence of other non-native speakers who can write a pretty well article. Even their flow of sentences may not be as natural as the native speaker they may have some extraordinary ideas to deliver. I salute to these types of writers as they’ve courage to write in language other than their mother tongue. Furthermore, it’s not an easy job to write in languages that are totally different from one’s native language since it’s not talked, heard or written so often as in the environment of the native speaker. So, please give them your thorough support!

Be Considerate and Caring

As a writer, you should pay attention to what is happening around you. From as small as a germ to as big as a whale, it can be a good source for you to write.

Writers are All Equal

In the writing world, all writers are equal. We’re not divided into “superior” and “inferior”, we are all equal. So, don’t look down upon the new writer! It’s an important note to acknowledge that you don’t belong to “Republican” or “Democratic”, but you’re “NGO”. Think that, you’re a respectable writer who exists here to help each other to grow for the betterment of tomorrow.

Appreciate the Power of Your Words

While getting excited with new inventions of the latest gadgets and devices, do you know that the power of words can be as huge as one atomic bomb? Your words influence one’s mind, your voices touch one’s heart, your thoughts purify one’s mind, your ideas inspire one’s life, and your suggestions improve one’s lifestyle. That means your articles can be more inspiring and valuable than all the powerful gadgets, and luxurious products money could buy.

I’m confident that you’ve fulfilled the criteria described above, without really concerning much. You’re now the most convincing and successful writer! Congratulation! Now, start appreciating yourself as an honorable writer and go write! Welcome to the writing world!

Before ending this article, let’s pray for lesser sufferings and agonies; world peace; better economic growth; lesser natural disasters like tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruptions and other calamities; and lesser diseases. In contrary, let’s pray for more wisdom, intelligence, health, and wealth.

Lastly, I wish you all good luck in writing. Happy writing and happy publishing!

How to Make Money and Build Your Career as a Writer

Making a bit of extra money from writing is something all authors want to do but finding work as a freelance article writer is not easy. There are lots of pitfalls too and what may seem like a good idea at the time can turn out to be a huge waste of time and energy.

So, how do you find writing work that will pay?

First of all anyone looking for freelance writing work on the internet needs to realise that there are so many other writers doing the same thing all over the world and so, with so many articles available, webmaster and site owners don’t pay very much for your work. Some don’t actually pay for it at all. They give you a monthly payment according to the amount of advertising revenue your article has earned.

So, as well as being a writer, you need to be a marketer and you need to drive as much traffic as you can to your articles. Traffic means money.

I make a decent part-time income by combining income from a number of content sites and blogs on the internet.

Triond is my main source of writing income and as long as I keep marketing my work my income increases each month. The way this works is that all article in the Triond system continue to earn revenue, so, the more you write, the more income you generate. I have been writing on this site under the name of Louie Jerome for more than two years now. I can guarantee that you will get paid in the middle of each and every month (minimum payout 50c).

***

Associated Content also provides me with a small monthly income but the problem here is that they will no buy my work outright because I am not a US writer. I have no idea why this is but they only pay non-US writers for the reads their articles attract. This is currently somewhere around $1.50 per thousand. Payment is made on a monthly basis via Paypal. There’s no need to worry about getting paid from people as I have never had a problem.

***

Word To The Wise is my own blog and it attracts Adsense revenue (slowly), plus an income from Adgitize which is also quite slow but increasing with the traffic. I don’t run ‘paid to blog’ advertising on my blog. It is relatively easy to find opportunities to do this and you can earn a few dollars per post but it can affect your standing on social networking sites and it can also put readers off coming back to your blog.

Today.com will pay you a dollar a day plus a payment for the reads you get if you set up a blog on their site. You need to write at least 100 words per day and they guarantee that $1 for 30 days, after which they will revise what they pay you. So, it is advantageous to keep the quality high and write more than the minimum. I have not earned enough to be paid by this site, so I can’t vouch for them but it looked to be worth a try.

Getpaidfrom.us is another site where I have posted a blog. It is taking time to build traffic here because the url of the blogs posted here tends to scream ‘advertising’ at the reader and it puts people off. For instance: getpaidfrom.us gives the impression that I am paid to write what they tell me, but that’s not the case. Driving traffic here is difficult because most social network sites and members don’t like blogs where writers are paid to post and this is what the url implies. I haven’t earned enough to be paid by these people but I have spoken to a couple of people who have been paid, so this one looks a safe bet.

I am a member of Bukisa.com and previously posted some articles there but I have removed them. I do not post anything there, now. I don’t know of anyone who has been paid by them but I am informed that contributors are earning good money. Recent problems with plagiarism left a nasty taste in my mouth and I have also been put off by the set up, the rapid growth and the high initial payments being offered here. I may be wrong and if so I will reassess the situation.

There are lots of sites that will pay for contributions and I believe that eHow and similar sites offer an income to US writers. Anyone who is not from US should check this out because I actually started to write on eHow and then discovered that they wouldn’t pay me because I don’t live in US. If you are thinking of writing for a new site, read the terms and conditions carefully.

I earn a good regular monthly income from two other sites which are UK only (just to balance the opportunities discussed here!)

Dooyoo is a UK consumer opinion site which pays 50p which is around $1 for each article and extra for each read. There are also extra payments for outstanding content which are made weekly. Ciao.co.uk is a similar site which pays less but runs writing competitions on a weekly and monthly basis and provides me with a regular income.

***

Hubpages does not pay you to write but if you publish articles, or Hubs as they call them they will share Adsense revenue with you. You can link this to your existing Adsense account. This adds a little bit of revenue to that earned by my main blog but not enough to make it worthwhile spending a lot of time on it.

This article is not written with the intention of discussing every writing opportunity available on the internet. This is the way I earn my income as a writer and includes my personal experience of the sites that I write for.

Proven Strategies at Maximizing Your Triond Earnings and Article Views

Let’s be blunt. When you first sign up on Triond, you think to yourself, “This is great! I can finally write articles to my heart’s content and make good money off it too!” Then, within a month of signing up, your view changes to, “This sucks! I already have 10 articles, they’ve each got only 20 views or less, and I only have $0.10 in my account.” Now, to be fair, I can understand your anger. At a real job, minimum wage is usually at least $10.00 an hour. If it took you 5 hours to write those 10 articles, you should’ve made at least $50.00 - not a measly 10 cents.

Well, that’s where advertising kicks into play. Chan Lee Peng put it best when he said that, “Back link is by far the best strategy which is used to attract readers/ visitors to your article/ website” in his article entitled “How to Get Non-stop Traffic and Page Views to Your Websites or Articles.”

Aside from submitting your article links to the major search engines, and like Chan said, using Yahoo! Answers and E-pinion, I have 5 additional tips to add. I have tried all of the strategies myself and they seem to be working, at least for the moment anyway.

Affiliations

If you have a website or a blog, it’s quite common to affiliate with other websites and blogs. Placing a small text or picture link on your site in exchange for placing your text or picture link on another site is relatively common practice these days. It’s not that someone who views your site or the other site will click on the affiliate link, but it’s more of the fact that the more sites the link to your article is on, the easier it is for search engines to find it, and the higher up in the search results your article will be.

Free Banners

If you’re good at using Adobe Photoshop, you can take a look at Free Banners, a banners-exchange site whereby placing a small banner code in your website will let you earn credits that are automatically used to advertise your banner on other websites. In addition, if you place the banner code at the top of your website pages, you’ll automatically obtain Gold Membership from Free Banners, allowing other Gold Members to view your banner, thus increasing the number of people checking out your articles.

Your banner can even be as simple as a plain white rectangle with the name of your article on it.

Invision Power Boards

There are many forum board hosting services on the World-Wide-Web, but the major ones are phpBB 3.0, Invision Power Boards, and V-Bulletin. Of these three services, Invision Power Boards has the best search engine crawling capabilities. It has a feature in the Administration Control Panel of its boards that lets forum administrators allow “Search Engine Spiders” to crawl your board’s pages and add them to the engine’s search results. For example, in the Administrator Control Panel on my forum board, my statistics show that Google crawls through my forum at least 5 times every day, adding new forum post links to their search engine.

Keep in mind that Invision Power Boards is completely different to InvisionFree, an older version which does not have the same success when it comes to search engines crawling your pages.

Even if you have no interest in creating or maintaining a forum board, create one just to post links to your articles. Enable the “Search Engine Spiders” option in your Administrator Control Panel, and search engines like Google, Yahoo!, Live and HotBot will crawl through your forum board. Any links on your board to your articles will also be crawled through and added to the search engines as well.

Link Referral

Previously called Link Exchange until it was bought over by Microsoft and its original site transformed into a Microsoft Office advertising page (go figure, here we go again with greedy powerhouse Bill Gates), Link Referral is just what its name suggests - a site where you can refer a link to other people. The site has thousands of members, and hundreds of thousands of submitted links in their database. In short, it’s like submitting your site to a search engine. The difference is that YOU alone control how high your link appears in Link Referral’s Search Engine Database.

Every day, you have the option of viewing 30 other member-submitted links, posting 5 reviews on other links, selecting 1 link as your favorite for the day, and writing 1 post for the Link Referral forum board. If you do all of this on a daily basis (they say it takes 45 minutes per day, but in my experience it takes about 2 hours), your link’s position on the site’s Search Engine results will substantially increase. Also, the more detailed reviews you post on other people’s sites, the better grade you get as your review rating. A higher grade also affects your link’s position. I have an ‘A’ grade, and by completing the 30 visits, 5 reviews, 1 favorite and 1 forum post, I can get my site to within the top 3 positions in the Link Referral search engine. The top 5 spots in the search engine rack up 20 to 60 visits each day, so you can see the earnings potential when you add up the number of people viewing your Triond article.

Triond Community Forums

The official Triond Community Forums, where all Triond members are encouraged to communicate with other Triond members. Expand your reputation, and you’ll gain more exposure and thus earnings for any content you submit to Triond itself.

On Writing: Promoting Your Work in 2009

Are you a serious writer or poet who is publishing on the internet with Triond, Bukisa, eHow, Helium, AC, or elsewhere?

Are you finding yourself with less time to write as you are putting it all into promoting your articles or blog? Perhaps I can help.

Opportunity

Recently, myself, Lauren Axelrod, RJ Evans and other writers from various sites began building a network of blogs with the addition of guest articles. The way it works is the blog owner publishes an excerpt or your full article(with your links and byline) on their blog and then promotes it along with their own work. I know this is an age-old practice but it creates a "social networking" community where people of like interests are more likely to read and promote each others' work.

This also creates an opportunity to build your readership, the readership of your sites and those of like-minded writers and provides us a chance to revive some of those articles that didn't receive much exposure when first published.

Niche Marketing

In my article "Plagiarism and Promotion: Ideas and Suggestions", I talk about the web of plagiarism that has been sweeping several writing sites and how I have become a victim of this myself. I also discuss different ideas on promoting your work, one of these being to join a community of writers and post on niche sites.

Why So Many Topics?

My blog has a wide spectrum of topics because I have a wide variety of interests and cannot pin myself down to one topic. In simple terms, I would much rather have two blogs and many sites that I write for, than 12 interconnected blogs that I cannot keep up with. Therefore I have created many topics on one blog and offer guest articles from other writers as well. There is more information on submitting your articles located on my blog and other links in my profile.

Here's wishing you all the best and happiest 2009!

Thank You Triond for Making My Life Better

The year 2008 or Year of the Rat is a remarkable year for me. It's a remarkable one because it's one of the most memorable and productive year for me. It's memorable in the sense that, it's the year when I started contributing articles for Triond. Consequently, a productive year, because I started receiving extra income from my published works ranging from $100 - $200 a month which is of great help and made the financial aspect of my life a bit lighter compared to previous years.

Because of this additional income I am receiving every month, I was able to pay all my bills (electric, cell phone, telephone, and internet) on time without delay unlike before. I was able to enroll my daughter at the best school in town. And in addition, I am now recognized by some of my colleagues who were doubtful at first if I can make it good in the internet.

Publishing articles is easy especially with Triond (the only publishing site in the internet where I am actively contributing). The real problem lies on marketing -on how to gain views or traffic to your site. Marketing is the bread and butter of every writer/contributor - more views will mean more money. I have seen scores of good writers that come and go, most of them disappearing due to failure to gain expected views on their submitted articles. It's the same problem I encountered during my first month. I was able to published 78 articles during my first month, most of which were poem that I have written in the past. Without any knowledge and background on internet marketing, guess what - I've earned $1.86 only. Isn't it silly and ridiculous?

But this didn't discourage me to go on. Through exploration and discovery, keen observation and careful analysis with the aid of will power, perseverance and hard work - slowly, one by one, I started to learn the process of promoting my works. I've been through a lot of trial and error but in the end after working long hours every night and having minimal hours of sleep, I started to see the fruit of thy labor - my articles started gaining more views/traffic.

At the same time while learning on how to advertise my works, I started making friends with Triond writers by reading their articles and posting comments on them until such time that I've already created my circle of friends without even noticing it. As a sort of unsolicited advice, I hope newcomers at Triond should do the same, instead of leaving messages on the inbox of fellow Trionders asking them to read and comment on their published articles.

As I was climbing the stairs of Triond, there were few people who tried to pull me down by leaving harsh and nasty comments on my articles but this didn't discourage me either. I would admit, it affected me emotionally and even psychologically (sometime) but on the other hand, it encouraged me and challenged me more to strive harder.

To sum it up, I would like to extend my warmest thanks and gratitude to my love ones, to all my friends, my on-line friends (including my detractors) for their moral and spiritual support, the hundred and thousand readers who diligently read my articles (hopefully they'll continue to do so for all the years yet to come), to all the Triond editors and support team for their helping hand and to God above for His continued blessings and graces. To all of you, I offer this humble and tiny success of mine and with hope that in my own little way; this achievement will serve as an inspiration to others.

Thank you all, good luck, good health and God Bless!

Here's my top 13 list of articles that gained (and still gaining) the highest number of views;

Wouldn't You Know It: All This Blabbing Might Not be What It's Cracked Up to be

I've started blabbi .. er, writing.. again, in a somewhat big way, of late. And there's no doubt that when enough verbal cylinders are firing, the experience is both warm and fuzzy. I feel a bit like God, what with throwing around the word, especially in light of vaguely remembered scripture about how the word was (is?) in the beginning, etc., etc. But I don't pretend to be doctrinally sound, or even moderately capable of remembering BIble verses, my having memorized hundreds back in the 1980 timeframe notwithstanding. 2009 is upon me, and my memory has seen better years. But that's okay with respect to other wisdom about the adulterous (or were they officially married?) relationship between ignorance and bliss.

Moving right along, some of the collective gist of what I'm remembering having read, while convinced what I was reading was in the direction of "Truth", is that enlightenment has more in common with silence than with noise. With respect to verbal symbols, one might rephrase as follows: enlightenment is inversely proportional to verbiage.

Mind you, I'm not saying it's true. I'm just saying I've gotten that impression on and off (although, now that I think about it, that impression was obtained from more words, which more than a little undermines the point. Maybe. I mean, the entire self-referential nature of our so-called selves is funny that way, so maybe it's okay for snakes-eating-their-own-tails such as ourselves to obtain nourishment from similarly exhausting exercises in handwaving?)

So, what are we doing here? This endless rush to present words in gob-like quantities to each other? Is it to enlighten? But but but... hasn't the same gone on in a plethora of ways since the beginning of recorded history (papyrus, Gutenberg, novels, letters, newspapers, magazines, etc.)? And doesn't the vast majority - if not all - wind up in one scrap heap or another (today's going by the name of "/dev/null", for those with ears to hear).

I don't know. I get the feeling it's just a whole lot of biding of time. Procrastination, if you will. Just as I wrote thousands of USENET posts in the 1990's, and now they matter not one whit, so too all this, these various USENET roses by other names (wiki's, blogs, whatever).

It doesn't bother me to label what I'm doing, here, "procrastination", because, what the heck, why not be accurate? Why not admit all possible explanations.

I mean, I could be doing all kinds of other things that are arguably far more valuable than writing whatever comes to mind. Charity work, for instance. Interacting with my kids. Cleaning the toilet. Certainly those kinds of things have a more lasting effect and value than all this preaching to the edit buffer ever could.

But, then, this is rather easy relative to those other things. I'm sitting here with one foot up on a love-seat arm, the other kind of toe-planted into the floor, in a way that indicates I'm not as mature as I should be for my age. It's four in the afternoon, and I'm still wearing pajama bottoms. Grant it, I have a halfway decent excuse - I'm rather ill (don't worry, it's just cold/flu kind of virii), and decided a pajama-bottoms-over-long-underwear combination will speed recovery.

But let's drop the pajama bottoms image, already. The point is, I'm mostly just wiggling my fingers, here. But I can rather easily pretend to myself I'm doing something significant, because after I submit it, it'll appear in some nifty font, flowing around fantastic claims (aka advertising), and just basically have the appearance of being as important as articles in the newspaper of my childhood (The Milwaukee Journal) once seemed to be.

Man, all I've got to do is wiggle my fingers for a while, go through a typically embarrassing proof-reading step (the quantity and quality of my blunders continue to amaze me), and suddenly I appear to be important. I'm published. Whoa!

Okay. I didn't mean to possibly demean your doing this.

But am I really too far off track, here?

Might the great and powerful Internet be nothing more than a denial-fueled tower of justification to do anything and everything except what really matters, e.g. raising and becoming better persons, such that the world (which is nothing more than the integral of persons from zero to the total population) becomes a better place, a place you'd rather not escape through a screen?
