Do Keyword Based Computer Formulas Work?

Well over a year ago I wrote an article titled Baseball's All Time Greatest Teams. I put a lot of time and research into the article and thought it was worth something. So I submitted it to a site that paid up front money for articles only to be informed that the article "was too general a topic and lacked broad appeal and would not generate sufficient search engine based traffic." It was known that the content site used a computer formula based upon keywords in articles to determine if articles could or would generate traffic to the content site. So I rewrote the article and added more keywords to it and resubmitted it. I got back the same reply so I added even more keywords and resubmitted once again only to receive the same reply again.

Frustrated, I decided the site was never going to pay me upfront money for the article. The site does pay a performance bonus based upon page views but I'd learned over time I was better off submitting articles to Triond because Triond paid me much better based solely upon page views. Besides the site had rejected what I thought was a pretty good article. So I submitted Baseball's All Time Greatest Teams to Triond and it was published soon after. However when I tried to click the link from Triond's email saying the article was published I could not access it. I was going to try to view the article later but got busy and forgot about it for a few days. But when I did finally view the article I also logged into Triond and was astounded to see that Baseball's All Time Greatest Teams had over 20,000 page views!

I had never done anywhere close to that number with my articles. A Sopranos article I wrote did do over 8,000 page views but that was because it was near the end of the Series when I wrote and submitted it.

Not only was I shocked at the page views but I couldn't help thinking back to what the content site where I had first tried to publish the article had said when they rejected it for pay. "Too general a topic and lacked broad appeal and would not generate sufficient search engine based traffic." So much for their keyword based computer formula. I knew another content producer from that site who had been paid $50.00 for an article about his bad back and all the ways he had tried to treat it. The last time I talked to that content producer his back article had done 89 total page views in well over 1 year and Baseball's All Time Greatest Teams is now well over 24,000 total page views.

All of which makes me wonder just how well keyword based computer formulas really work.

How to Increase the Pagerank Value of Your Triond Articles

I have been writing for Triond for more than one year. In this long period, I've made sufficient money from my articles. However, none of my articles haven't been placed in the first pages of popular search engines, Yahoo, Google and Alltheweb for my keywords and tags. Last month, I joined a forum whose members are webmasters. While reading their advices and useful articles regarding increasing popularity of written works and blogs, I gained much information and experience. I read all about pagerank, seo and hit increasing. This is the whole list of the methods that webmasters use to get traffic and increasing the pr value of their pages.

Your Content Should Have a Good Title

Virtually every reader look at the title first and if it is attractive enough then he opens your webpage and goes on reading.

Your Content Should Be Written with Good Grammar

Grammar is the most important element of an article with the content itself together. A good grammar enables reading process. Using catchy words and avoiding complex and long sentences make the article clear and explicit.

Tagging

Tags are keywords related to your article. They are mostly the words in the content or general words describing it like travel, health and politics.

Now, you have a good article in hand but yet no visitor reading them. The first stage is being indexed by search engines. To do so, you should add your articles into other web pages which have already been indexed. Your indexing duration changes by depending on the pages you've added your link. Here is the ways of doing that.

Add Links to Social Bookmarking Sites

This is the most commonly used strategy by 90% of webmasters. Time for indexing changes depending on the site. Stumbleupon and Digg are the fastest ones. Mixx, Propeller, Sproose, Indianpad and Humsurfer are other alternatives. Checking the search engines for indexing process and recording the result may provide you useful information.

Pay attention to tagging while you're submitting your articles. Use general words and avoid very specific ones.

Add Your Sites to Directories

Directories are alternative to social sites. A group of similar contents are recorded in a specific titles in the directories. Most of the active directories demand fee for submitting, however there are still many free sites for submission. Check the search engines for “free directories and “free submission”.

Check the pr values of free directory which you submit your link. If the pr value of if is 0, it means nothing for you. Your article needs to be indexed by higher pr valued directories. Nevetheless,it is a backlink.

Add Your Links to RSS Feeds

Rss feeds are the best way of being indexed by search engines and getting backlinks. Add your rss feed link into popular rss services. My favourite one is Linkriver and Feedfury.

Use Your Links in Your Blogs

Blogs are effective in sending links. If you have a blog with similar contents in Triond, use the links of Triond articles inside it. Blogs are do-follow and search engines index it and evaluate it while calculating your pr value. Check the pr value of your blog first and if it is at least 2 or 3, then add your link into it.

The comment part of the blogs are usually no-follow and it has no effect on pr calculation. It is pointless for pr but it still works as backlink.

Use Your Links in Relevant Forums and Groups

Add the url of your link into signature part of forums. Join the forums and groups with the similar content. For example, if your article is travel related and being submitted in Trifter, then use your link in travel forums. Every comment with your signature showing the url is a backlink for you.

Check the pr value and visitor number of the forums prior to adding your url. Add yours to popular ones.

I hope that this article will help you somehow and be your mentor while impressing others.

Scheduling Your Way to Online Writing Riches

When you think about becoming rich writing for a living, what goes through your mind? Do you think about how many articles it would actually take to get you there? Do you consider how many clicks on your ads you need to get? How much traffic? If you do not, then why not?

Getting Rich Writing Online

The one thing that every single rich online writer shares is a plan. None of these online writers go into their day without some idea of what needs to be done to keep the money flowing. While this seems painfully obvious, it is amazing how many online writers do not have a game plan. If you are one of those people, then here is how to get a schedule, and keep it.

Write Down Your Writing Schedule

Before you go to bed at night, figure out what you want to earn the next day. Start out with a reasonable goal, and resist the urge to set the bar way too high. You want to get a bit of momentum going, and you want to stay realistic. The big money will come around soon enough. Set a realistic goal, and refuse to come up short.

Once you know what you wish to earn, write it down. This is where you actually write down the avenues that you can earn that amount from. Online submission sites like Triond, Constant Content, Associated Content, and others, allow for you to earn steady money. Earn your direct money from them. Once you reach that goal, then you can start to earn secondary money.

What is Secondary Money, and Why Should I Care?

Secondary money is the money that you earn through Google Adsense and websites that do not pay you a direct amount for your work. For example, websites that share revenue, or operate only with a page view bonus. These sites are time based. In other words, you will need to build a presence before you will start to earn a strong secondary income. They still have to be a part of your long term goals, however, so you need to schedule time for each of these. Blogs are another perfect example of this method. Slow and steady wins the race.

Hit That Online Writing Homerun

Do not sell yourself short. Submit to the major magazines, and online big boys regularly. I try to send in at least one submission per day to a major source. It only takes one getting accepted to send your career through the roof. If you get your foot in the door, then you will certainly increase your earning power. This will lead to new online writing goals, and new tax brackets for you.

Spend at Least Two Hours a Day Promoting

Promoting your work is a must, especially in the beginning. Spend time submitting to as many places as possible, and blogging and networking. Make sure that you are building a web history, and that your name is getting out in the online writing world. Over time, you will begin to have your work come to you. That is a great feeling, and it becomes quite profitable as you are the one setting the prices.

Schedule Everything

Each of the above tasks are all important to online writing riches, and all of them need to be scheduled into your day. If you follow a schedule, then you are much more likely to not overlook any important aspects of your online writing career. In a career where covering every base is vital, that is the most important tip you could ever get. Schedule it, and then follow through. You will be amazed at how fast your earning potential will grow.

Is Good Writing Important? Let Me Spell It Out for You

Ok so maybe I have a bit of a superiority complex but I do feel it's warranted, at least on this topic. Is it just me or is the world dumbing-down on matters of spelling and literacy? I'm often appalled by the lack of correct spelling and I'm not just talking about school work here.

Who's using poor spelling?

Some of the worst culprits are businesses who spell their own services incorrectly! I've seen lovely, big, paid-for signs for motels with the word "accommodation" spelt without the second m, and even an optometrist where the word was shown as "optomertrist". I saw a body piercing/tattoo business whose sign read: “Body percing and tattoing done here.” Frankly, if they're going to make a typo on their own sign, imagine their performance on my tattoo, or worse, puncturing my body parts! Pass!

Restaurant menus are notorious for spelling errors. How many different spellings have you seen for the words "cappuccino", "focaccia" and "dessert"? I often feel like correcting it before handing it back … but that would be rude!

Check, check, check

If you take pride in the work you do and the services you offer, surely it's worth ensuring that you portray a professional image in all areas of your business. A spell-check is essential on documents, and it's made so easy for you with Microsoft Word! Take advantage of it and you'll spare yourself the embarrassment of someone pointing out your errors to you.

Your website, of course, should also reflect your professionalism. Don't take it for granted that your website designer's English skills are spot-on. Proof-read your web pages before they go live. That includes photo captions, product descriptions and meta tags.

A dictionary can be your best friend

When you're in doubt about how to spell a word, pick up a dictionary and check it. There are even online dictionaries now; you only have to Google the word "dictionary" and you'll find a couple of options.

There's really no excuse for poor spelling in your business correspondence, marketing material and signage. For sure, other people are blessed with far greater mathematical skills than I, but I will always grab a calculator if I'm not sure of what I'm doing.

A new word each day

Never be ashamed to have to learn something new. For whatever reason, if your spelling skills are not top notch, you can take steps to improve them, even if it's on a word-by-word basis. Invest a couple of minutes per day learning a new word. You can even visit websites that offer a word of the day and even email it to you, complete with definition.

Poor spelling creates a poor impression, in the same way that chipped nail polish or laddered stockings simply wouldn't do for a job interview or client meeting. Make some time today to go over your work and see if you can make some improvements.

Need help?

There are proofreading services available that offer quick turnaround. For a set fee, you can have your entire website proofread and individual items of correspondence checked and corrected, and all with guaranteed confidentiality.

I think the emergence of sites like Triond are a great opportunity for people who want to write for a living. If you want a career producing web or marketing content then writing for Triond gives you the opportunity to get started.

You can learn what makes a great piece of content and the money you earn should be a good indication of this.

Personally, I want to write the best quality content I can. Something you write for a site like Triond could be the evidence you use to get you a well paid freelance or full time job.

It's in your hands, it really is up to you to submit the best possible content you can. Factual, interesting and clear content is evidence of your skills and you can get it published for people to see.

The harder you work the more you will earn. The more you write the more you should improve, work hard but always work smart. I believe you should be constantly looking to learn the right skills so you pick up good habits and always improve the quality of content you produce.

Learn The Industry

You may be university educated but you should also find out what courses and training are out there. Find out which relevant professional bodies (such as an institute of marketing) operate in your country. And look for advice from professionals who work in the industry. For example:

Research popular topics and keyword searches, if your writing for the web this is the commercial aspect of job.

No media publications would be successful if they didn't have extremely commercially aware people working for them. You need to think how will the people who publish your content generate revenue from it, then write in a way that helps them to be successful.

If your writing for

Four Success Tips for All Triond Writers

I'm not yet a Triond millionaire neither do I boast of extensive experience as a publisher for the Triond website (although I'm not entirely new to website publishing and journalism). In fact, I just started a several days ago and just earned my first few dollars. With the type of results I'm getting, I'm confident that if I multiply what I'm currently doing by a hundredfold, then my income will increase accordingly. There are some tips that will help you (and anyone) to become a successful content publisher, not just on Triond, but on any other site, blog, or opportunity that pays you for contributed content.

Tip # 1

Stop posting garbage content. It brings you nowhere - Some people merely write something like "I'm so bored today" or, "I just watched the news and I fell asleep". You are not paid for self-expression or writing journal entries. You are being paid for CONTENT. When we say content, we are looking for information that generates viewer interest by either being educational, funny, controversial, or anything useful to the readers. SO from now on, make this commitment to yourself as an online publisher: "I will do anything to deliver heavy, quality content to my readers". And yes, this commitment demands some work afterwards.

Tip # 2

For every article posted, think of an audience. - You are not writing for your own reasons. You are writing for your audience. It's not the articles that produce the income, it's the people who view, appreciate and enjoy those articles. So in everything that you write, make sure you are doing it to entertain, feed, inform, educate, convince, or preoccupy your audience. If you're writing about weight loss, make sure you understand what weight loss enthusiasts feel and are going through in life. If you are writing about music, make sure you are contributing useful info for musicians and music lovers.

Tip # 3

Don't believe the "it's all about quantity versus quality" concept. Some writers believe that what they write or how they write doesn't matter. What matters, according to them, is the QUANTITY of articles you produce, and that's enough to earn big cash. WRONG. One article that generates hundreds of views, diggs, comments and revenue is a lot better than 1,000 articles that people barely view and notice. I'm not against submitting lots of content, as long as they are quality content. It must be well thought of. It must be well presented. It must help the lives of the audience.

Tip # 4

Make Your Content Keyword Rich. To do this, you have to understand what words or phrases your phrases usually look for in a certain category of interest. For example, in basketball, people would normally look for the search keyword item "Kobe" or Jordan" or "nba finals". So it wouldn't hurt if you include these phrases in your article's keyword list, and in the body of the article itself (that is, if you're writing about basketball related stuff). Moreover, write about topics that users and readers care and HURT about.

That's it, I've given you four keys to being a successful online publisher. Those are concepts that everyone, including me, must abide with in order to become responsible and successful content publishers in the online information gateway. In my other articles, we will discuss some more topics that concern all Triond writers.

Every Internet content writer had to start somewhere and along the way have been faced with some seemingly overwhelming obstacle that blocked the path to your ultimate goal. Some writers continued to charge forward without slowing for a moment to understand why the obstacle was placed there in their path. The other half of the writers slowed down and scanned the situation, but did not stop fully to examine the obstacle, so to move it out of the way. Only a few of the writers actually stopped and carefully examined the obstacle and engineered a solution to moving the obstacle and hauling it away.

What does any of this have to do with Improving my Earnings? Everything.

If you are one of those writers that charges full steam ahead despite what obstacles stand in your way. Without stopping. Without worries, then you are the type of writer that will go far and nowhere fast.

If you are one of those writers that slow to examine the obstacle in your path, but do not take the extra time to formulate a solution to move it out of your way, then you will be consistently stumbling over the obstacle the longer that you leave it in your way.

If you are one of the few writers that stops fully to examine the obstacle that is blocking the path, and then develops an understanding of what caused that obstacle to originally come to block your path, and then formulates a carefully thought out plan to remove the obstacle, then you are the type of writer that will become a successful content writer.

Becoming successful at writing or anything for that matter doesn't usually come by pure chance. It requires a lot of hardwork and patience, but most importantly, it requires an understanding of marketing, branding, and tweaking this and adjusting that, so that you can achieve any goal that you put your mind to accomplishing.

Now, let's get started with the lesson.

The following are 10 Important Things That Every Triond Writer Should Do To Improve Your Earnings:

Write your Triond Author Bio that is located in your account tab that is found in your Triond dashboard. Do not rush through these process, because if your Bio looks sloppy and poorly written, then your potential readers may be left with the impression that the rest of your writings will be much of the same, and then decide to leave without reading any further. Let your readers know a little about yourself, but do not reveal too much about yourself, leave that mystery to be revealed within the pages of that which you choose to write about within the pages of your writings. This way it gives those potential readers something to look forward to and they will be likely to read some of your published work.

Published a couple of articles, poems or stories before you start making any friends. Start sharing your writings with the rest of the world and Triond community, so to show the type of writer that you are.

Understand the difference between being a friend and being a fan, while at the same time trying to earn an income and building a solid reputation for your writings is extremely important. If you are a new writer to the Triond family and you start trying to make friends right away before publishing any of your own work, then this is what I consider to be a fan and usually I will not add you as a mutual friend. If you on the other hand have published some of your own writings or photos for that matter to Triond, and then you add me as your friend I will make you my mutual friend, because then I will also have a reason to be your fan, too.

Read everything that Triond has provided for its writers to learn from. Triond provides all new and current writers tools, so that they can learn the basics of self-promoting or otherwise known as marketing in layman's terms. Furthermore, there is a Triond School available for free to all Triond members, so that they will learn how the different social bookmarking networks work and other valuable information that is designed to get new and current writer started on the right foot.

Take time and make realistic writing goals and income goals that you can achieve within your own ability to learn what you need to learn and do what you need to do to see your goal through to completion. Making too lofty writing goals and income goals will only set you up for future disappointment, especially if something that you could not foresee happens where you cannot carryout your plans to achieve your goals that you set.

Decide what type of writer that you want to be and what type of writer that you already know that you are, and then choose to be just one of them and no, you cannot be both.

If you are choosing to be the type of writer that writes poetry, stories from the heart or personal stories, then you should also be aware that this choice is much harder to earn a decent income from. The reason why, is because usually these types of writings contain fewer high paying keywords that are used by advertisers to determine the rate of payout that they are willing to pay to the publisher, which the publisher shares with their writers according to the number of views that an article receives in any given timeframe that the publisher sets.

If you are choosing to write for an income, then writing about just anything is out the window. To be successful and begin building a steady income that will continue to grow over time, then you will need to start writing for the market. Writing about subjects that everyone is talking about or about subjects that will be talked about in the days, weeks or months to come. Yes, not every article will be successful even if you are a popular writer. It is the nature of the business and is something that you must get use to or quit writing, because obviously Internet content writing isn't your area of expertise.

Just as important as earning an income is to a serious Internet content writer, it is equally important to build a solid reputation for yourself and your writings. If you are a writer that enjoys writing about the things that you like and enjoy or if you are a writer that writes for the market, so to earn a living income, then it becomes important to write and publish something new every few days. This way you will potentially have readers who choose to subscribe to your RSS Feed and when these readers choose to do this, then they want to be informed when you publish something new. This is what businesses would call repeat business and that is good.

When submitting your writings to Triond to be published, then you must know that using MS Word and saving your writings in the word document format is what I use and is an acceptable format for publishing. Triond does accept other document formats, but you will need to take the time and read through all the information that Triond provides to its members, so to learn exactly what these other document formats are for yourself.

Learn a little bit about SEO and Keywords, so that you are able to write an article that will return a better income (per view) in the longrun. Both of these subjects are very important areas to study, especially if you want to make your living writing. There is a lot of information about these subjects on the Internet and there are several Triond writers who have written excellent articles about SEO techniques and understanding the importance of keywording your articles. Take you time and learn this at your own pace.

Avoid becoming one of those writers that believe that you are in competition with every other writer out there on the Internet, because you are not. Even if you believe that you were the first to write about a particular subject chances are someone else have already published something about the subject before you even had the opportunity to record your thoughts on paper. It's OK, to have more than one or several other writers writing about the same thing, because every writer will uniquely write an original piece of work, thus giving the readers more choice to read possibly challenging points of view.

Triond writers it's up to you to market and promote your own writings on and off of the Internet. There are many different marketing techniques that work, but some require much patience and time to start paying off and other marketing techniques will payoff very quickly, however it usually will only last a matter of a few hours to a few days, and then the view will begin to slow down to a trickle.

Joining social bookmarking networks such as: StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, Faves and others like these, will give your articles the chance to be quickly noticed by potentially millions of other members belonging to the same social bookmarking networks that your articles were submitted to. However, you will still need to make friends at these networks to be able to build an effective marketing network, so to achieve your projected writing and income goals that you have planned for in advance.

If you are a student in a college or school, then use this opportunity to tell your friends and other students about your published writing, and then give them the website address where your articles and/or writings are located. Be sure that you take the time to write down the address yourself, and then give it to your friends, because this way you are sure that the address was written down correctly and this extra little effort may have convinced that person to drop by and read some of your writings, you never know.

Writing articles for websites like Triond, Associated Content, Constant Content or your own website, think keyword density?

Why do writers use keywords in writing articles for the online market?

When you use a search engine like Google or Yahoo, you search using keywords? Others search using keywords?

Some keywords are even popular. You can find popular keywords.

When writing articles decide what your keywords are. What words do you think searchers online would use to find your articles?

Let's say your article is on business? What specifically? Business advertising.

Then you should try to use the keywords "business advertising" as frequently as you can in your article.

Use the keywords, but nevertheless make your article interest.

Try to have the keywords in as many sentences and paragraphs as you can, but nevertheless keep the article interest and the rhythms of the article interest, so it doesn't seem as if you're just using these keywords.

Make the article make sense. Make the use of the keywords make sense. That's keyword density.

Let's say with this article the keywords are "keywords," then if online searchers are looking for "keywords" they might find this article. If online searchers are seeking articles on "keyword density" they might also find this article.

When writing articles, think of keyword density. Decide your keywords and use those keywords and keyword density creatively in your articles.

You can also find keyword density calculators online. For other keyword calculators, put "keyword density calculators" in your search engine.
