Bukisa Vs. Triond

I joined Triond in January 2008, but didn't really get rolling by summer, or even early fall. I joined Bukisa in October 2008, I am writing this in Dec of 2008. I feel I have enough experience on either to give you some facts.

When I joined Bukisa I did not immediately rush out to recruit others to join, in fact it was a full month before I sent out one and only one friend request. That person did not sign up. In recent weeks my Triond Inbox has been flooded with requests from Triond members for me to join them on Bukisa. Most of the people sending the requests are not only new to Bukisa, but new to Triond. As such, they neither have the experience nor knowledge to recommend one compared to the other.

Bukisa pays you per hit on your articles, but you only get paid once per hit from any computer, thus you cannot gain money by repeatedly visiting your own site. Fair enough, I imagine Triond is the same. What is more to note, and the key to all these “Sign up” requests” is the fact that Bukisa pays you when people you sign up, write and start making money. A sort of pyramid scheme, but legal. As such, people are eagerly trying to get as many people to sign up as they can.

In the last week, I too sent out some requests, not random ones, I only sent requests to people who wrote me asking how to make more money, and such. I had 6 people join, only of which 2 have actually written anything.

One of the driving factors causing people to write for Bukisa was the lure of more money. I can attest that on December 1 2008, Bukisa lowered their pay point.

I can also attest that different Triond publishing sites pay different amounts, 1000 hits on “Authspot” is not going to make as much money as 1000 hits on one of their other sites.

If what you write on Triond is not making you rich, the same stuff on a different site, is not going to make you any richer.

Bukisa is for informative, or “how to” articles only. They do not want your poems.

Bukisa does not seem to have the internal networking system, meaning you cannot send messages to each other.

Yes, you can copy your Triond stuff word for word onto Bukisa, but this is not professional, and as I said above unless it is making you a lot of money on Triond, there is no point.

Triond seems to promote our stuff very well. I believe they submit to search engines, I have not seen the same on Bukisa yet.

It is not an “either, or” situation, you can write on both, or even some of the other writting sites.

As with anything, promotion is the KEY to success. If you do not promote your own things how do you expect it to be found? Using social networking sites is the key to any greater success. Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Twitter, etc. Promoting your own stuff, and your own stuff only is NOT an effective way to get fans on any promotion system, you must also support other works as well.

If you are going to sign up in Bukisa, and I am not trying to discourage anyone from doing so, make sure you sign up beneath somebody who will promote you. If a person is doing well here on Triond it is because they have learned the art of good writing and good promotions, and surely will promote your “good” articles. Signing up under a newbie might not mean they will work for you at all.

By having multiple sites, eg Scienceray, Gomestic, etc, Triond is more professional at this time.

Bukisa and Triond are not the only writing sites in the world, there are many others, Hubpages, being one. Using one does not mean you cannot use others. Remember it is extra income, if you think you are going to retire to writing solely by writing on the Internet for one site alone, think again.

I prefer to think of writing mainly as a way to spread information, ideas, and facts. Making a few dollars is great, because it helps pay for my Internet connection, even if it is only Dial up, for now, but spreading knowledge, or sharing pictures, is also a great goal to keep in mind.

My New Year Resolution

I make one every year. The dawning of a new Year is always a time for hope, I find. After filling myself with everything possibly imaginable, I get on the scales with a groan. Too many nuts, crisps, chocolates, in fact too much of all the things that make you happy, but are so bad for you. Christmas is all about eat, drink, and be merry, but come the New Year, there's a price to be paid.

So I resolve to lose weight, and join a slimming club, as when I go on holiday, I want to fit into my swim suit. I go for my weekly weigh-ins, and get carried away by the sheer exhilaration of fulfilling my New Year resolution to lose weight. Eventually I will go down a dress size, and then I will feel really proud of myself. All I can hope for is that my triumph is not short lived, and the weight will stay off. Well there is a chance that it will, at least until next Chistmas.

Another resolution I make is to try and be more tolerant to people I'm not keen on. There aren't many of them, but certain people seem to bring out the worst in me, either by the way they act, or the way they speak. I want to try and remember that this is part of their personality, and who they are, just because they grate on my nerves, doesn't mean they are not a nice person, maybe they find me a drag. If I'm nicer and more tolerant towards them, will I get the same treatment back? I don't know, but it's worth a try, isn't it?

Yet another resolution is to keep in touch with people more. I'm not as good as I should be at writing letters, I usually put one in with the Christmas card once a year to some people that I haven't seen for a long time. But there isn't really an excuse for not keeping in touch nowadays, providing we both have a computer. Emails are a great way to keep in touch.

My final resolution is not to leave it so long before visiting old friends. My excuse used to be that they never come to me, I have to do all the visiting, and I'm busy too. However, when somebody you haven't seen for a while, suddenly isn't there any more, for one reason or another, it hits home hard. Life is too short to worry about petty things like that, and you wish you had spared the time to do it.

If I can successsfully achieve just one of these resolutions for 2009, I will be happy. A New Year means a new start, that is what I say. I wish you all a happy 2009.

Triond and Linda

I have read a few articles about what Triond has meant to others, so now I figured it is my turn to write about my experience here. To be honest I have always felt that I never fit in. I was always a loner and by myself before I came here. Me now in my forties wondering where the hell time went. Nothing much to look forward to, just exsisting. Living the day to day boring life that I chose to live.

I joined this site after I had been searching online on how to get paid to write. This site was at the top of the search list, I had never heard of this place before. At first I was just checking around and book marked the site to come back to later.I looked at a few other places, but none of them popped out at me.

I did come back here a couple days later. I found it quite interesting from the other sites I had visited. So I figured why not, not much else was going good for me. At this point in my life I was low. I was going through a really bad time with my partner and that is still ongoing, and then you have the every day stuff that all of us go through. Life I guess.

Until recently I never wrote my thoughts down on paper. I thought who in earth would want to read them. I am just an average girl. I decided to join and see what happened, at most no one would befriend me and no one would read. That was nothing new to me, but I figured why not give it a try.

Well since then I have learned a lot from posting here. I had met a lot of really good people who also like to write, so right off we all have something in common. I also believe that after all the comments I have received that most that read like my posts. Their comments bring joy into my mostly sad life. I feel alive and fresh and happy. A smile crosses my face as I read what people think of my writings. Ya I make a penny here and a penny there, but most importantly I feel better about me!

This site is very therapeutic for me. I can hardly wait in the morning to open my computer and see how many views I have got and how many of my friends have read my new posts. If Ive made any new friends or have any new fans. Who stopped by for a short visit. Then Iam off to see what my friends have written. I try my best to comment on them all, or at least read them all.

The other thing is you never know who is reading. Who is just around the next post. So much fun this site is. How much it has helped me feel good about me. Opening up to complete strangers who now I know by name. What a wonderful gift Triond has been for me.

Acceptence is something all of us want and crave from the bottom of our souls. I found that here with all of you. I want to thank each and every one of you here for accepting me and taking me under your wing. You were and are there when I feel no one else is....Thank YOU !

Triond Messes Up

Well yesterday I was making a great article on creatures that were suppose to be fake or things that looked fake but were real. It took me a good hour to do and I didn't copy anyone. I was so excited and couldn't wait to see how many views it would get.

So I go on the next day and find out it was said to be copied which is totally a lie. I go furious and freaked out. It wasn't something I would do over this little thing but for some reason it ticked me off.

I’m writing this article to everyone from Triond that has lost an article, which was perfectly fine. I'm here to say don't give up just because it didn't get published. I thought about it, and I understood that everything even computers make mistakes. Don't give up on Triond if it doesn't publish your stuff just try again. Hey, they are willing to give you money and just giving in some old homework or some articles.

So keep your head high, like I should of done instead of getting frustrated. Just get some friends, write some articles and make some money. That’s all I can think now

Are You Missing Out on Some of the Most Important Points While Writing Quality Articles?

Since the time you started writing articles regarding your genre of work, have you felt that they somehow are incompetent to satisfy your readers, thus not giving a great start to your career?? If you say yes, then read on for a little help.

Be it the technical articles, or the general blogging or to that matter, business content on various sites, web publications seem like a career in fashion, pooling different genres of writers. Coming across various writers' profile, you would realize umpteen reasons how they got down to earn with the pen's (or in today's world, the keyboard's) might. Though, since ages, there is no kind of bounding as to who all can take up writing, but with better and more varied opportunities cropping up in this field, experts of every other sector have bowed down to the publishing houses and have taken up writing through their experiences. And then, why wouldn't they, when they are paid tons for their expertise.

Leave aside the pros of an industry, the latest elevators that lead the masses(including students trying to earn a pocket money) to the content writing jobs sites are the pay your bills, earn sitting at home and make money online programmes (you might just name them scams if that sounds better) that have flooded the internet marketing sector. They would drive you insane if you start searching for the best ones on the web, and conclusively leave you on a craigslist or any other job site that would list some opportunities to start with. But as you start working on them, you would realize, it isn't that easy, for it demands concentration, hard work, and loads of research to carve a niche.

This is an article for all the newbie writers and those pros in the industry who are trying their best to get the hang of this writing field.

It sometimes gets pretty unnerving when you realize that you've put in your crazy efforts but still haven't been able to impress many. This is a clear indication that your writing skills need a little improvement since you might be just missing on some of the most essential points while bringing your thoughts on the paper or the computer.

Following apt points would prove to be a boon for those who want a serious career into article writing.

Do not Cluster every thought all together:

This is the first and the foremost point that slips out of most writers' minds. You may have all the knowledge of the work you've been assigned, and the sum of the great ideas popping up there is desperately wanting to flow through your fingers but, stop right there if you have those pangs. When such a situation occurs, you are bound to mess up the page.

Let the ideas flow, but in a systematic manner.

Consistently bring the points down and give a lot of spaces in between your lines and paragraphs to keep the reader interested

Use bullets and numberings to highlight the important points. This will help you keep your reader stuck to the work.

Use the bold and italics applications to enhance the attractiveness

Avoid exaggeration of your point:

This goes out for those professionals who have been hired by companies to pass on their knowledge of their respective fields to the masses. Considering you are cognitively skillful, do not exaggerate every nook of the point you want to express.

Secondly, before starting to write, consider your target audience:

If your readers do not hold any experience of the technicalities, preferably use layman's language which will keep their interest in place. If you go deeper into the subject with heavy technical words, they might just look for better options than your article.

If the web site or the paper is meant for the people having intellects at par with yours, then is the time to flaunt your knowledge and skillfulness.

Any typing error is a path towards being called an unprofessional:

The biggest blunder in this field would be a ‘typing' mistake like a misspelled word or a repeated one. Remember that every sector has experts and newbies. When you tend to make such kinds of mistakes, it will not only forcefully bring a spot on your profile (which can be a permanent one), but also categorize you into the section of those unprofessional writers who have been employed for peanuts.

To avoid such situations, always proof read your work before publishing. While proof reading:

Try deleting instead of adding words. At the first attempts, we usually fill up the passage with words. Kindly keep the quality as a priority over the quantity.

Read aloud. This is a tried and tested method and would certainly help you discover those small grammatical errors that you could have escaped while reading in mind.

Read backwards. This phrase isn't new for professional proof readers as it is the best way to spot spelling errors.

Delete the flowery language. This isn't for sure a marked school essay to compete for the best grades. Hence, your fancy words may be counted as unprofessional.

Cut off the excessive and unwanted adverbs. Your readers might not have all the time of this world for your article and hence, just get rid of the adverbs which describe obvious situations.

Therefore, it is advisable that you must stick to the basic structure of an article. Start off with an informative opening paragraph, followed by well divided body and a definitive end. Just remember one thing - ‘Simplicity is the essence'. Have a happy writing journey!!!

Six Hints: How to Make Your Writings Get Into the Hot Content List

After I published the “Six Newbie Tips to Succeed on Triond” which was based on my observation in the Triond community I still can’t help observing Triond further. As I clicked on “Explore” to find the names of those who left comments on my writings, I would always be able to drop by in the "Hot Content" section. This made me look and observe what makes a content “hot”. Here are my observations:

Pictures and Superlatives or Extreme Adjectives

No, pictures alone won’t make your work “hot”. It should be pictures with a title that include adjectives such as “Amazing,” “Stunning,” and “Bizarre”. Superlatives like “the most” or “the top” also makes it hot. A combination of both makes it “hotter.”

Title

Titles are so deceiving. Even if the content is not as interesting or as "hot" as the title suggests it makes everyone want to read your work.

Numbers

List-style as Nelson Doyle calls it give titles (and contents) more focus. It should be more than five. “Five Ways” or “Ten Uses” suggest more content and more worth the reading than four below. Ten is probably the most used.

Nature

Anything about nature will interest the majority as long as hints one through three above are applied.

Computers and the Internet

Computer gadgets and interesting or helpful websites are also "hot". Again, superlatives or extreme adjectives apply as well as the number.

Focus on the Majority

The content and title should interest the majority. A native recipe in a particular country that uses native ingredients will only interest the countrymen. The “Ten Most Beautiful Women around the World” will be more interesting to the majority than “The Most Beautiful or the Sexiest Women in a Particular Country.”

Lastly but more importantly, contents should always be original, unique and fresh just as Triond wants it to be.

An Absolutely Legitimate, Free and Fun Way to Make Money Online

There are a few ways out there to make money online. I found a few sites that were legitimate--you won’t get rich quick like others promise, but you will make a little extra spending money. For stay at home moms (like me) it helps when you want to take the kids for a little treat once in a while. I will share with you what I know--for free!

A lot of places promise that you will get rich quick. You fill out all this information about yourself just to get to the end of the registration and find out that you either have to sign up for some kind of magazine subscription or you have to pay for a list. Just a little heads up-- after you pay, you will get a list, but it is usually outdated so it does you no good. Then there is the mystery shopper job. I still haven’t found a site for this where you don’t have to pay for a list. I think the safest thing to do is probably to call the company you want to work for and ask them if they hire mystery shoppers. I really don't know how to get a job doing this, but I have looked hard to find one! If I do, I will let everyone out there know and I won't charge! I think it's so unfair how people do that!

Anyway, those are things I have found that don’t work. Then, I was looking on craigslist one day and saw for my state where you can look up writing jobs. They directed me to a site called print and post. There I found out that you can write blogs, stories, poems or just upload pictures--anything you want as long as it is your own work. I’m sure they probably don’t want really offensive things either, but you can check (not that I expect anyone wants to be offensive). From there I was directed to Triond where I opened an account. I have uploaded pictures and researched some things then I wrote a little research story about it. If you have a computer, you can research anything! And you can upload pictures as long as there is no copyright on it. And please, don't write things word for word when you find information. That is stealing someone else's work! After you write your piece and fix it just the way you want, you upload it to Triond. From there, they will publish it on the web for you. They made it so easy to do!

After your blog, picture, etc is published, companies will put their advertisements on it for people to see when they click on it. Make your piece interesting so more people will go to it. The more people who click on your site, the more you will make. Now you won’t get rich from it, but like I said you will make a little extra spending money. And the more you get published, the more you will make. You get paid once a month and it's fun to keep track of how much you are making and how many people visit your site.

Another free way to make money online without any upfront costs is to view paid emails. There is a site that I have found called Hits4Pay. They will pay you ten dollars to sign on and then for every email you read, you get paid two cents. Now you won't get rich quick, but those two cents begin adding up and you can earn a little extra spending money in time. If you have lots of friends, you can refer them to this site and earn when they view emails too. This can really add up fast! To get to that site, simply click on this link: http://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?SueB

As I find other sites to help you earn money while you are at home with your kids, during your free time, or even as an easy part time job, I will let you know. I update this site often to keep it fresh, so check back! I will never put a site on here that costs money or that I haven't joined and know is safe. It takes a while because there are so many "tricks" out there, but they are out there to be found--and they are FREE!

Go ahead and try it--it’s absolutely free and it’s really fun! Good luck and God bless!

The Most Odd and Unique Writing Style

As a “newbie” to the internet, you will probably be shocked by the fact of coming across the texts, documents, mails or messages that contain a great deal of odd-looking but interesting symbols, punctuations, and logos. This writing style is a type of “shorthand” that internet users developed to express instantly their thoughts, feelings and emotions without wasting longer time typing them out.

On September 19, 1982, a computer scientist, Professor Scott E.Fahlman from the Carnegie Mellon University of the United States proposed to use the symbols in the university's electronic bulletin board. This was due to that at that time, the electronic bulletin board did not make much difference from its classification as it only had one theme, and thus leading to the topic's content could not be distinguished easily. Therefore, he had insisted the use of a symbol of [:-)] to represent a joke or a decent material while a symbol of [:- ( ] to express matter that needs to deal seriously and immediately. In this way, the internet users could avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding and the misuse of grammar while delivering his or her ideas. Since then this symbol which is called Emoticon has been used extensively in almost all of the unofficial sites. Thereafter, it has become another writing style favoring by the computer fans of the American university.

Emoticon in general means the emotional (EMOTION) and the small logo (ICON) that are used to merge together to form a new word. Initially, it was called EMOTICON SMILEY and it was started to use by the computer users on 19 September, 1982. Originally, Emoticon was a secondary culture of writing style via electronic network but it was not so common in the writing texts. Nevertheless, the massive access of an internet, ordinary letter, mobile phone text message or SMS, electronic messenger, electronic mail (e-mail), or chat room has created a wide coverage of using it to express ideas, thinking and feeling of the users. In short, Emoticon has eventually become a writing style that was widely accepted by the community across the globe. Not soon after this, the community in the blog, forum, and discussion board have been able to use more interesting and attractive Emoticon to express their feelings. Nowadays, this Emoticon has turned into a relatively complicated form than its initial simple form with the aims to express more appearances of the unperceivable facial changes. For example, [=l:)=] is a symbol that represents the previous American president, Abraham Lincoln.

The advent of the internet as well as the emergence of the global culture undoubtedly has turned the daily oral language into a symbolic expression in the writing form. Now, this Emoticon is no longer regarded as a ridiculous writing style, but it has become an important way for people to communicate with each other with ease which help avoid the linguistic or grammatical errors which might sometimes create misunderstandings, uncertainties and doubts among the people.

In Japanese, this Emoticon is called kaomoji, animae emoticon or verticon (Both “kao” and “moji” mean “face” and “word” respectively in Japanese). In the writing form, the asterisks (*) represents the eye, the underscore ( _ ) represents the mouth, while the parentheses (or brackets) represents the outline of the face. Besides that, Emoticon is also used to indicate animals, things and many other things surround us. Here are some examples I found:

Facial Expressions

(*_*) a normal facial expression

(<_>) sad

(@_@) confusing

(`_^) winking

(;_;) crying

(^o^) singing or laughing

(╥_─) annoyed and frustrated

`(•.°)~ crazy

〈（＿　＿）〉	apologize with a bow

（￣口￣） helpless
（＃－.－） embarrassing
（─.─||）        helpless

┐（─__─）┌ embarrassing
≡￣﹏￣≡ embarrassing and helpless
Animals

(‧‧nnn caterpillar

(0^◇^0)/ sparrow

(=^ ^=) cat

/(*w*) rabbit

≡[。。]≡ crab

( ¯(∞)¯ ) pig

(:≡ jellyfish

<□:≡ squid

<｀▽′> tiger

"@ or @/" snail

(:◎)≡ octopus

((( ●<　	 cockroach

(。。)～ or (: )～	tadpole

∑^)/ crow

(=^ω^=) fox

=' т "= Lion or cat

(OvO) Owl

Others

♀（￣▽￣）／	Good girl

♂（￣▽￣）／　　	Good boy

( $ _ $ ) money minded

<(￣ c￣)y_ξ smoking

（～￣∆￣～） be a fool

■D" a cup of coffee

ε==3 	             bone

<*)>> >=<                  fish bone

(●-●) sunglasses

――<-<-<@ rose flower

8＜ a pair of scissors

In the age of the internet, network based Emoticon is no longer a trademark of computer experts, any internet users may create his or her own Emoticons as long as these symbols are lively, creative and widely used. For example, there is a more complicated symbol called ORZ which often appears in the writing form as follow:

Orz　	 big head

orz　	 small head

○|￣|_ magnifying version

ORZ two hands are supporting by the floor

XXXXX Or2 rising up

囧 have a facial expression

OTL change the shape

STO change the side

Horizontal style Emoticon is the earliest mode of expression in the writing form. It is western style in its nature as it is more often used by the westerners as compared to other nations. Here are some symbolic representations found in writing form.

Common expressions

:- ) smiling

:- P holding out the tongue

:- / doubt

:- ( unhappy

:- D happy

:- C unhappy

8- ) A smiling from a person who is wearing a pair of spectacles

xc==  vomiting

(p_-) searching

Not only have the westerners used Emoticon for their writing purpose, Asian people also have made used of the so-called vertical style Emoticon in all sorts of applications particularly in the mobile phone which is said to be far more popular than Europe. This Emoticon is different from the conventional Emoticon as they are mostly viewed vertically. This was mainly originated from the Japanese animation (or manga in Japanese). The facial expression is easier to understand and you need no necessary to have to turn your head 90 degree to understand its meaning. Here are some examples:

(๑￫ܫ￩)

(｡・`ω´･)

(・(ｪ)・)

(σ｀・д･)σ

(oﾟωﾟo)

< (o_o<)

(>o_o)>

^(o_o^)

(^o_o)^

(^o_o)>

<(o_o^)

(>^_^

(>O_o)>

The Japanese Emoticon is enriched with the anime drawing style with many expressions shown using the eyes, and it is always shortened by taking out its parentheses. Thus, (^_^) will become ^_^, but sometimes it is abbreviated as ^^. Very often, the use of the longer underscore which represents mouth will carry the stronger emoticon's feeling and meaning. Here are some symbolic representations found in writing form.

The combination of Japanese's Emoticon or kaomoji (face and word) can be created from the basic form of ˙﹏˙ to a form of (˙﹏˙）which is more human in nature. Here are some of the basic forms of kaomoji.

Small eyes

In view of its importance in the writing form particularly in online-chat, ordinary letter, e-mail and text message, the mobile phone companies have included their products with a number of commonly used Emoticons to facilitate the use of typing text messages. Even Google Talk allows the messenger users to use Emoticons to express their feelings while chatting so that the communication becomes more lively and interesting. The notable feature of Google Talk is that the typing of horizontal style Emoticon can be inverted gradually 90 degree to turn into a vertical style Emoticon making the conversation more enjoyable and fun. Here are some common uses of Emoticons:

:-?? I don't know.

%-( I'm not listening.

%%- Good luck!

**==    flag

(~~) pumpkin

~O) coffee

=:) bug

*-:) idea

8-X skull

>-) alien

:-L frustrated

[-O< I'm praying.

:-" I'm whistling.

:)>- a sign of peace

[-X I feel ashamed on you.

:D/ I'm dancing.

>:/ I'll bring it forward.

;)) hee, hee

^:)^ It's not worth.

:-j Oh, please go on.

(*) star

(%) yin yang

$-) money's eyes

In view of the nations, racial and cultural background differences, the use of various symbols in the writing form represent different meanings. While doing researches on this topic, I came to realize that the kaomoji of Japan and other Asian countries have an extremely richer expression and vocabulary than any western countries that I have encountered so far. Its creativity and range of the facial expressions that appear in the writing form is extremely wonderful. Here are some examples:

d^_^b I'm listening to music.

(？o？) Oh?

( *>.<* ) ~@ It's sour…..!

(-_-) zZZZ/ (z_z) I'm asleep.

(°_°) I'm concerned/ I'm nervous/ I'm shocked.

|-| I'm bored.

(^.^) / (*_*) I'm amazed.

(^L^) / (^(^) I'm happy.

W(`0`)W I'm roaring in anger.

(>_<) / (>_>) / (<_<) / (c_c) I feel pain/ I'm facing a failure.

(^_-)db(-_^) I promise.

T_T My tears are falling down continuously from my eyes. (It symbolizes sadness.)

(^o^)/ Wow, I'm happy! (It symbolizes happiness.)

*(^o^)/* I'm a cheerful leader.

(._.) I'm depressed and down.

(e_e) I'm rolling my eyes.

; eg. (^_^;) I'm embarrassed. (with a condition of sweating)

o(^_-)O I feel encouraging.

(@_@) I'm feeling dizzy. (Some nations note this symbol as “I'm confusing.” )

(p_-) I'm digging for the truth/ I'm searching. (It symbolizes someone is looking through a magnifying glass.)

(=^.^=) In a Japanese society, it is a question of “Am I cute?” (It signifies a cat or “nekko” in Japanese.)

(-.-)y- I'm considering for a cigarette break.

(^_^)a I'm scratching my head.

(^o) (/o^)/ I'm dancing with a joy.

＜（￣︶￣）＞ I'm satisfied and contented!

＜（￣︶￣）／ I'm satisfied and agree with you. (It signifies that I'm holding out my hand to show an agreement)

＜（＠￣︶￣＠）＞	I'm satisfied but feeling a bit shame.

(＞﹏＜) I don't want, please! (Sometimes it means “I'm in pain”)

（＃￣▽￣＃） I'm ashamed.

（︶︿︶） I'm unhappy!

//_o I've a hair brushed over one eye.

m(_ _)m Please forgive me! (Sometimes it may signify “I'm apologized to you with a bow.)

(‧_‧？) What's the matter?

( T___T ) Why like this?

(≥◊≤) I'm touching.

{(-_-)} I've headphones put on.

…… ( > < ) / Wow, it's emerging!

(＞﹏＜) No!
( © o © ) I'm shocked and panicked!

( ¯ □ ¯ ) My brain is blank.

(￣.￣)+ I've discovered something.

<(￣︶￣)> []~(￣∆￣)~* (￣﹏￣) (￣ˇ￣) I'm satisfied and excited.

＜（￣︶￣）＞＜（￣︶￣）＞＜（￣︶￣）＞	When we're together!

Emoticon is a clever way of the users to express their feelings and emotions. If the user types “I'm feeling happy,” it could not 100% catch the reader's attention to figure out his or her feeling, but by adding the Emoticon at the end of the sentence, the sentence will look more attractive, lively and eye-catching. Here are some examples of the sentences.

I'm feeling happy :)

I'm feeling sad :(

I'm laughing :-D

I'm laugh' so hard that I don't notice that a 5-legged spider is hanging from my lip :-D*

I'm not sure which long-distance company to choose :-|

I'm winking ;-)

I can still smile though I've lost one eyeball .-)

I couldn't understand why nobody wants to talk to me :V:-|

I'm smiling :- )

I doubt :- /

I'm unhappy :- C

I'm vomiting xc==

I'm searching (p_-)

Don't buy this ^:)^

Advice for the Online Writer

The experience of online writing however, doesn't have to be like this. You can be an online writer and still have a life. You just need to remember a few things.

Appreciate Your Unique Situation

There are many kinds of online writers. Some write at their leisure while others, like professional web content writers, have to write at the speed of light. Whatever kind of online writer you are, you need to step back a bit and appreciate your unique situation. Some writers simply take the job grudgingly and are around for the long ride for no other reason than the chance to earn.

You should realize however that not everyone is given the chance to have the world at their fingertips. Being an online writer may mean having to swim in a sea of foreign information, things you've never read or heard about before. An online writer has the unique position of learning so many things. This is great for people who appreciate knowledge for its own sake. But who knows, researching for an online article may just provide you with ideas to build your fortune.

Take Some Time Off for Updates

Some online writers have to write for fifteen hours a day! Even if you don't have that kind of schedule every day, there will be days when you'll never see the sun. You might one day be surprised that you never knew your country has a new president or that alien invaders are just a few feet from your doorstep.

Do take the time to get up and flip over the cable channels. Watch a few hours of news or simply just get out and ask your neighbors what's up.

Try to Write Differently Sometimes

There's no use trying to put it differently. Online writing is nothing like any other kind of writing. Having a degree in creative writing or journalism may mean little if you choose to pursue the career path of online writing. There is a chance that you may have to learn a new way of writing that is distinctly different from academic, literary or formal writing.

Online writing may not be so difficult to learn, but it is difficult to unlearn once you get the hang of it. Some people are online writers just so they can earn. Most of these people though may not have surrendered their dreams of one day becoming newspaper reporters or bestselling authors.

Ask yourself if you want to be an online writer for the rest of your life. You might say that this is just a temporary phase until you get your big break. If you feel this way, then go back to your roots from time to time. That is, find some time to write poetry, essays, short stories or whatever else you wrote best when you were in college. You don't want to make a mess if you decide to make a transition.

Give Yourself a Break

The best advice anyone can give you is to take occasional breaks. Do not write for very long hours even if you are able to without at least a coffee break. Taking a little time out will help you keep your much needed sanity intact.

Twelve Top Tips to Get Loads of Page Views

Writing an article or taking a photograph and publishing it on the web is now easy thanks to
Triond
. However you will only start to earn money when you get a substantial number of visitors to view your pages. I have gathered together the following twelve top tips for getting lots of visitors to view your pages.

Submit details of what you have posted to social networking sites such as
Digg
,
Reddit
,
Blue Dot
,
Ma.gnolia.com
and
Del.icio.us.
This is very straightforward from the Triond content page. But do some homework first. Look at the about pages of each social networking site and see which is most appropriate to what you are sharing. Some are technology based, some news, some more general. Targeting to one that is directly related to your content will be most useful.

Publicize what you have done on your own
MySpace
or
Facebook
or
BeBo
site

It is not necessary to pay to get your page sent to Internet search engines. You can submit your details to free, search engine friendly directories.

In the articles that you write refer to the other articles that you have already published on-line

Tell your friends and family, co-workers, and neighbors about what you have done. It's free advertising and they already know who you are!

Make sure the content of your article is well written and correctly spelt. Get a friend to check it over for you if you are unsure. People will not look out for further pieces of work by you if what they find the first time is badly written or spelt.

Leave a comment on relevant blogs and other articles on similar themes with a link back to your piece of work

Make a short video about yourself and your work and put it on YouTube

Tell bloggers about your content, both articles and photos and ask them to view and review them

Tell your local newspaper about what you are doing. Local papers especially the free ones are desperate for stories and a local person being published on the Internet could be a “good news” story. If you write it for them they are even more likely to use it. Look at the stories published in your local paper and see what length and style of short article they use.

Take care when you write the tags to describe your page. These can be crucial in people finding your pages once they find the website

Email an newsletter to all your contacts to keep them up to date on what you have posted recently. Don't do it too often or it may be treated as annoying spam. I do this monthly.

These are my 12 top tips - they are working for me - I wish you success and hope they work for you.
