Money Or Enjoyable Career?

How do we write articles we enjoy and earn the money we deserve?

As a young child, my dream ambition was to become a writer. Of course, my writing was encouraged but I was told sternly to focus on making something of myself by becoming something such as a teacher or solicitor. For a while, I followed other peoples' dreams, writing only poetry and short stories in my spare time but, when I reached the age of ten, I was rewarded by my school for my writing skills. It was then that I became addicted to writing and the thrill of success. I knew in my heart and soul that I was born to be a writer and, no matter what, I would achieve my dream.

I was twenty-two when I published my first book after spending day and night for three months writing. It had been an exhausting time but the success was so incredible and worth every effort. However, the high was short-lived and, before I knew it, I was back to square one, looking at how I could write every day for a living and earn a good income. I came to a dead end... until I came across Triond.

Triond has given me a wonderful opportunity. I am now able to write articles on any subject matter I choose - and be paid for my efforts. But, after being a Triond writer for a few months, I am left wondering a few things...

In order to be successful, do I have to write articles on things that are of interest to other people instead of myself? What if my favourite subject matters don't raise the kind of income I am searching for? What if I can only earn by writing of things which aren't of interest to me? Surely I would then be stuck in the rut of having a career that I dislike but which pays well or a career that I enjoy which pays virtually nothing. What would be the right thing to do?

I am in a fog when it comes to chasing my dreams or chasing the finances to keep my dream alive...
