Gearing Up for Freelancing

Someone's plans in freelancing.

This is fun for me. I want to earn some money online. I assesed myself, and concluded that I can do the following:

  1. Profit from the ads from blogs like Google Adsense

I've seen my blogs come and go. For 4 years, blogging really interests me. This is an opportunity and can be fun to try.
  2. Freelance writing

My grades in English are good since I started studying inschool. I love to write too. I keep journals and I love to blog. This can be for me.
  3. Freelance Graphic Artist

Because of blogging, I've learned how to use Adobe Photoshop, etc. to make my own graphic designs. I am drawing since I was a child. I also do some traditional and digital arts in deviantart.com. It is nice to know that tutorials are always there.
  4. Freelance Web Design

Because of blogging again, i've learned to code html. Before, I really enjoyed coding and designing sites. But i've stopped because of of school pressures. I can just learn again now.

Four for me there. But when I started doing them. I found these little problems.

  1. Profit from the ads from blogs like Google Adsense

I started this already and it is not easy! Because I have to make my site a little more popular each day to earn some. But it's still a challenge. I found myself looking at my site stats every now and then. Just like what I've read somewhere: "It's like watching grass grow." But still worth it.
  2. Freelance writing

This is fun too and there are so many ads that i've seen that looks for a freelance writer. But my problem was, sometimes they were asking for work samples and i don't have any except my one blog. And after i e-mail them, they don't usually get a reply. So this is still hard, but i'm pursuing this still.
  3. Freelance Graphic Artist

Same problem, I have no work samples or portfolio. I actually have some samples, but I have to find them in my other PC. And I also want to make better graphic artworks, not the mediocre ones. I'm still pursuing this. Portfolio!
  4. Freelance Web Design

Same problem, my former sites were hosted by other kind people and I had no back up. So they're gone now. Now, I have to start from scratch to build my own portfolio for my my web designs. I need a portfolio again. Besides that, I must learn other web programming languages besides html. Probably I can take that little by little.

It's still early to tell but planning these things is fun and challenging. Let's just see how I will fair in the next 6 months.
