What exactly is bad writing? Is there a such thing? YES!!! We all know that bad writing exists. Some writing can even fall into the “horrible” category. But while everyone does not write well, we don't have to make those huge mistakes that make our writing unreadable. Please see the below tips that should bolster your writing enough so that people can comprehend whatever great points you are seeking to make.
Always Use Complete Sentences
Every sentence should have a subject and predicate, for the most part. Make sure you don't list an action as a sentence without telling the readers who performed this action. And make sure you don't make a sentence about some subject, but that's all it is, just the subject! Remember, a sentence = who did what. Now, this is not always true of every form of writing, such as poetry, technical writing, fiction writing, but for the most part, use complete sentences. Punctuate, Punctuate, Punctuate!
If you are writing, but not using punctuation marks, please beware that many of your points are not being understood. Sentences are clearer when we know where they begin and end. If we don't know where to end a sentence, and mark this end accordingly, then our readers don't know where to break off the ideas, and most of what is being read isn't clear or fully understood. Lack of punctuation runs in every idea you have written about, and that is not good. Use Bullets to Separate Things in Long or Complicated, but Equal Lists
Bullets are a great formatting method in which you separate each idea with a marker, starting new ideas on new lines. Bullets can be followed by complete sentences, one worders, short or long phrases, and anything else that can be listed and treated as a separate idea. Don't Abuse Anything You Aren't Quite Sure Of (i.e Words, Punctuation Marks)
If you don't know if you are using a word correctly, then don't write the word countless times, because it can be wrong just as many times as you've written it. If you write something and use quotes, but may not be writing the quotes correctly, don't just keep writing. You should take necessary measures to check these simple things before making the same mistake a million times. If not, your writing will just suck because you are too lazy to go back and correct so many errors that you failed to catch while writing. Always Keep a Dictionary on Standby
Any word that you would like to use, but aren't sure of the meaning, you should look up. All you need is a dictionary, a thesaurus, or the internet, and you can look up most words before you use, or better said misuse them.
