Let's be practically about report writing
Working reports should be clear, well organized, attention grabbing and praise worthy. It helps to be professionally presented, concise and a pleasure to read.
And thus, lacking this skill, report writers procrastinate. Staring at the blank computer screen, wondering where to start. Difficulty in finding the right words to put across the message clearly and easily comprehensible, how to better structure the reports to give it more impact, sometimes whatever is written looks too complex to all the readers except the one who written it. And finally, the grammar, to "t or not to "t.
Much as one like to argue, reporting writing is necessary in most cases. It is a task that takes up most of an employee's time at work. After all that time and effort put in, one would most likely prefer to produce something that is easy to understand, logical and at the end of the day, impressive to the boss!
Technical reports should avoid the usage of technical jargons, that would be incomprehensible to industrial outsiders, and probably set a mood so dry it will puts an insomniac to sleep! If it is a safety report, the importance of being easy to understand heightens to the maximun as unclear and ambigious procedures stated may result in users getting injured.
