Anybody can write a paper about a topic. A writer must make sure that the topic, main idea, and thesis sentence are included in each paragraph. A good paper must have an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. Before a writer turns in his/her essay to the instructor, he/she should have pre-written, written, revised, and typed their essay, so it is a “good essay”.
Before a writer writes, it is always good to brainstorm. A writer should write down the topic and at least three important points that cover the topic. Once the writer identifies the three important points about the topic, the writer should continue brainstorming. Using this strategy will help the writer to write smooth and without having to think about what to write next.
After the writer has brainstormed, it is time for him/her to write the essay paper. Writing the essay down on paper allows the writer to erase or scratch out misspelled words or unnecessary sentences. Writing down the essay is faster compared to sitting in front of the computer, thinking about what to type next. A writer can easily erase or scratch out mistakes faster and easier by hand writing the essay.
Once a writer has written the essay, it will be a good idea to revise it. A writer should go back and read the essay to correct any mistakes or unclear sentences. It is a good idea to let another person read the essay so he/she can point out what is good or bad. A writer should have one day off from the essay, because when the writer goes back to re-read the essay, he/she will be able to point out mistakes and revise sentences that do not sound right.
Last, the essay should be typed. Get on the computer and type what is written on the paper. Typing the essay is easy because the essay is already written. A typed essay will make it easier for the instructor to read compared to reading someone's sloppy handwriting.
A good essay should include an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. A writer should do a pre-write, a written, a revised, and a typed version of the essay, that will help the writer and make it easier for the instructor to grade. If a writer follows this strategy, he/she will have typed a “good essay”. Using this strategy will make the flow of writing run smoothly.
