Less is More

Well so many people said that a lot of time is spent on reading and commenting . It is understood that, as we say to our friend that we are going to avidly read and comment, our friend list grows.

The strains, to accept the codes, are sometimes annoying and after 3 or 4 attempts to post a comment, it has taken several minutes to complete. Times this by 10 or 20 reads and you have hours with reading and commenting. My computer is not very fast, so I have seen many of those days.

Many people do not comment. I could have 10 views and 7 comments for example.

1. This is going to sound strange, but consider commenting on HALF of the reads. This will not cut the time in half since we still read.

2. I would also like to throw out another idea; comment on one of the pieces for the person you are friends with in your tight circle. The views will be counted, the person will know you were there by your one comment and time will be given to you to create.

I won't suggest anything else, since it would require more reading, but would love comments on these issues, my friends.

This is some very good advice, Goodselfme. I find that you want too remain loyal to the ones that are loyal to you but commenting on every single piece can be so time consuming. Thanks for sharing this information! God bless. DEB.

Good advice, but I do find it strang that you can have someone view one of you pieces 20 times, but only 2 comments. I know it is time consuming, but wheather good or bad comments I would love to hear from those other 18 people who had read it.

I am not reading as quickly as I use to due to my community news increasing. Stop writing so much! (just kidding) But it is overwhelming to me at points because there is lots to read. Sometimes I don't comment but I will click "I liked it".

very true...i try my very best and i assure i may miss some due to the rise in friends.i start from the recently published and hope to get to all ,if you have 4 pieces a day submitted i may only get to 2 but i am trying and i do my best to stay loyal to all who are loyal and i even drop by on some new ones here and there,i agree that it can become overwheming but i still love ya's!i do comment but may miss a piece here and there:(

I guess I type with anywhere from two to six fingers depending if I am smoking, drinking or petting the dog. Sometimes all three at once. But I can comment is seconds.

Then comes the dreaded code mask and credentials! Then I wait to see if it took. Then I redo the code and wait. I swear I spend more time on that damn code than the comment and cannot get to comment on everyone.

But if you are a friend I am reading your submissions. Do we really need the code mask if we are submitting credentials???

Seems like a simple fix: IF Code OR Credentials VALID THEN......

I try my best to comment on all my friends writings. Sometimes a day or two will slip by due to family stuff. Goodselfme, you are a great friend to me and I appreciate all your work.

I find that as time goes on, you tend to make more and more friends. Like Chris, I try to comment on all my friends submissions. I don't always get to them in a timely manner but they do get read. It only take a few seconds to let them know I have been there and that I appreciate their work. We all feel different about this and it is good to do what feels right for each of us. I had problems with the code for a while until I found out I was trying to use my pen name as my username. Once I started using the proper name the problem disappeared and it takes only seconds to submit.

I enjoyed reading your article, Goodselfme and appreciate your views.

God bless,
Darlene

You are very right Goodselfme! i share the same feelings because I also want to comment most of the articles and uploads of friends... but time is just limited... But as the opportunity permits, I do my best.

Take care and God Bless...

I was thinking about this too. Maybe sometimes you could just initial a poem or story. It's nice just to say "Hi...I was here."
