I'd Like a Table with More Friends and Money Please: Oh, You Mean I Have to Earn It?

I had the recent pleasure of befriending Glynis Smy who wrote a follow up to my article Triond Etiquette: What’s Your Purpose of Being Here? called "Jump on my Triond Bandwagon".

The characteristic's that set Glynis apart is her grace, honesty, and her lovely pieces of written word. She is a voice of common decency and a writer with a mind that breaks the rules of common English, which is an overwhelming talent all on it's own.

I believe that when you cross the path of someone that mirrors the same characteristics as yourself, you come to the conclusion that your creative thoughts are appreciated no matter what the platform.

However, when those ideals are challenged by a Triond troll, as I like to call them you wonder what is the sole purpose of someone being here with that kind of agenda.

From my perspective, and of course one that is blatantly honest, I think that page views come to mind. However, when new writers come to Triond with the hopes of making tons of money by leaving negative comments or leaving a kind message in your box saying "Please read my work" and nothing else, it really burns me up. Especially when I never see their names in my comment section.

I know your saying, well didn't you do that? The answer is, no I did not. I took the time to comment and follow people before I made any kind of comment. I read recently on a new Profile "I am adding tons of friends so they will  read my work, you can add my name if you want to", as if he was saying I might read your articles.

Anyone that has a keen sense of Triond or is over the age of 20 would never leave that in their profile. It's one thing to hide your true colors but, it's quite another to put them all out in the open for the whole community to see.

I would like to introduce 3 Items of Information that every new and old writer should already know.

The Three T's of Triond

Try to comment when you can
Take the time to research before you make friends.
Take a moment and remind yourself that you are an adult and not a kindergartner running on the playground looking to knock over the weaker, geekier version of yourself.

It amazes me that some writers come to Triond and remain unnoticed while angry, self serving, talentless ogre's stick around and don't get kicked off. Oh, am I live? lol
