Being published by Triond and seeing one or two or no hits is disheartening. There are a number of things you can do to get noticed. The first is your title. You have to pick the most eye catching title you can, but it has to have something to do with your article. Sometimes you can't think of a good title, so hesitate in publishing.
A good title will get hits. People may be intrigued or tempted to take a look at what's behind the words. Your "key words" are also vital, for they will be picked up on searches, so try to select the right ones. Now that your article is published... Make friends on Triond. Friends will get a special advisory of what you've published. Most will give you a hit. In some cases you have to be careful not to post too many articles at the same time, as you'll compete with yourself.
A friend may click on one article when you have four or five new ones. So post them sparingly. Some friends might like the article and click on "I like it", others might leave a comment. But there's more you can do; Social networking. Triond gives you a share button, but to be effective, you have to join the sites. Stumbleupon is a great site. When you join, you select your interests and have a tool bar installed. Sites that match your interests will be delivered to you when you push the Stumble button. When you publish something, bring it up, and click on 'I Like It'. As you are the first, you'll get to write something about your work, pop in some good key words, and it will be streamed onto stumble so everyone else can see it as well.
Digg is also useful. Again, you have to register and manually add your links. Unlike Stumble, Digg links expire. Hence you might have "dugg" an article a month or so ago, but it's news to Digg. There are other sites you can use to share your work, and some are more useful than others. You can email links to your friends who aren't members of Triond and use the links in discussions in other places. If you are quoting something you've written you can give the citation without offending anyone's sensibilities. It's kind of a kick to quote yourself. These are just a few ways you can promote your writing on Triond.
